Mike wasn't really serious as he pulled up his stats. It would be cool if it was real, but he was sure the Chronivac was just a simulation like the Sims. He was startled at the image of himself that appeared on the screen, as he selected himself as the subject. It was him naked. He wasn't sure how the device had taken that pic, or if it just put his face on a stored body type corresponding to his height and weight. No, it had his moles in the right places. He was sure he had been completely covered. Whoa, there was the bruise on his butt from football practice a few days ago. It was a live photo. He looked at the purple bruise, and decided he would first get rid of it. He highlighted it, and clicked the "repair" option. He felt a brief twinge, and the purple mark vanished from the screen.
Mike looked around his room, and pulled off his pants and underwear. He bent over and looked in his mirror. No sign of the bruise. Cool. He pulled his shirt off, and sat down naked at the Chronivac. He opened the species options window. Becky was always begging for a dog, but she had allergies, and hypoallergenic breeds were so expensive. Carefully, Michael set the duration for a few hours. He didn't want to freak out his parents, but he wanted to watch Becky's reaction as he changed from human to dog, and dog to human again. He grabbed some oversize shorts that should accommodate his tail without ripping, and that he could quickly get in or out of depending on whether he was canine or human. Click. All data entered, and he was the babysitter today, so he was in charge.
Delayed timer activated. Michael glanced at the clock. He pulled on the shorts, and headed to find Becky.
"Hey, Becky, how'd you like to have me as your dog for the day," Michael said, "At least until mom and dad get home."
She screwed up her face, and looked at Michael.
"You're not a daw-" she started to say, but as she spoke she looked at him. Fur was growing all over his exposed skin, and his nose turned black, and his ears started to get furry too, and move upward away from his eyes, "Oh, my!"
Mike tried to explain what was happening, but all that he could say was, "Woof. Woof, woof! Woof?"
