"So, if any of us wanted to separate, how would we do it?" Cameron asked.
"Yeah, just asking," Drake said.
"Well, Josh said that he was fused to his best friend Dan when I put on the chain," Alex said, "but Josh wasn't there when I fused with Dan."
"The chains combines anyone who wears them," Kyle explained, "and apparently, it even applied when we all wore one half and each of you the other."
"But how would we 'split'?" Cameron asked.
"From what I've seen," Alex said, "the chains fuse the people who wear them, and separate the others who were affected."
"Maybe there is another way," Dave wondered.
The guys decided to try an experiment. First, they gave half the chain to Dave's younger brother Damion, who happened to be at the party, too. The guys explained everything, and Damion agreed to help in the experiment, even if it meant he would be fused to someone. Damion stood in one corner of the room, and the six headed body stood in the opposite corner. Drake put half the chain around his own neck, while Damion put the other half around his own neck. The two chains began dragging the two together; since Drake was the only one of the six heads wearing it, he and his body were pulled out from the others. Then, just before the chains got close enough together, Drake and Damion pulled them off their necks, allowing the chains to combine without combining the two guys.
This was a great discovery for the guys--this meant that there was a way for them all to separate without someone having to combine with another! However, for the time being, they decided to enjoy the party--after all, a multi-headed, multi-limbed body can only be seen as 'normal' in so many places. Kyle, Josh, Dave, and Alex decided to remain conjoined--they had originally come to the party like this. Cameron and Drake, however, were actually friends, and decided to use the chains to fuse themselves. This left Damion without a "partner", of course, but he would get a turn to use the chains tomorrow--his friend Steve was his age, and the two had imagined what it would be like to be conjoined twins. Damion and Steve were that close as friends, and enjoyed dressing up as conjoined siblings with to without their friends; he couldn't wait to see what it would be like if they actually became conjoined twins!
