Animalia Magazine: Summer Solstice Edition

added by makutamon 7 years ago O

The June issue of Animalia Magazine was labeled as the Summer Solstice edition, not only because it was distributed on the Summer Solstice, but it was also the prequel issue to the IAC. It helped explain many things that would be going on during the IAC.

---

The cover couple was Shiva and Durga, with the cover story as "Eye of the Tiger." It talked about safe supplements, which ones were for either herbivores or carnivores, and which ones were actually dangerous (such as which ones had arsenic in them, or other dangerous substances) and had to be avoided.

---

There was also a large article about the IAC, and the inspirations behind it, including the Olympics and the World Expositions. It also included known, and little known facts about the Olympics, such as how during classical Greece, the competitors would compete nearly naked, and how the word Gymnasium came from the Greek word "Gymnos" meaning "naked". It also helped debunk many Olympic myths, like the real reason why Adolf Hitler wouldn't shake a certain black athlete's hand because the rules required him to be impartial, not because he was black.

There were also many articles on the history of the opening and closing ceremonies of previous Olympic Games, and what was significant about them. There were also previews of certain new events that were only in the IAC.

---

The Past, Present, and Future not only talked about past Olympic Games, but also how primitive cultures used stone monuments, calendar disks, and other similar means to track the heavens. There were also included examples of megalithic artwork. The Present talked about what was about to go on during the IAC, especially during the events. The Future talked about new plans, especially of the development of the new Animalia Colony in Brazil.

---

There were also several interviews with Project Phoenix volunteers as well as a few ARP members. One interview was with Anne Cumbertin, who was participating in the baton pass event. She made it clear that she was better than ever after she joined Animalia.

---

There was also an article about the newest members of Animalia, specifically those who were just born. There would be many comments on the website on how adorable the infant Animalians were. Several were offers of names for others who weren't born yet.

---

The summer solstice edition of Animalia Magazine also marked the "final countdown" to the IAC, which was a mere nine days away.
