"Just promise to keep your eyes closed while I do my thing!"
"I will!"
Shannon and Jimmy began to chat like old friends as the hairstylist cut and redressed Jimmy's long mousy brown hair. She had just the cutest look for her latest customer, and she was sure that Jimmy would love it! After a few minutes, Jimmy felt like he had known her forever. They talked about everything from fashion, to cute guys, to movies and pop culture, and everything in between.
"You know, I think that I'm going to start seeing you regularly. You're gonna be my regular hairdresser from now on" said Jimmy in an increasingly pronounced drawl, not noticing as the lips on his face began to plump up and the nails on his hands became perfectly manicured with french tips.
"So where exactly in the South are you from, sugar?" asked Shannon, continuing to shape Jimmy's hair.
Jimmy was flabbergasted by such a question. He was from right here in Massachusetts, born and bred. He even had a pretty thick Masshole accent. Where in the Sam Hill did this woman think he was from Dixie?
Nevertheless, the answer came pouring right out of his mouth.
"Oh, I'm from Spartanburg, South Carolina, although I grew up a lot in Tennessee."
"Sweet! Did you ever visit Nashville when you were down there?"
"Visit? My stars, sweetie, I was BAPTIZED in the Grand Ole' Opry House!"
After a few more moments of idle chitchat, Jimmy's haircut was done. He could feel by the draft on the back of his neck that it was short.
"Ta da!" announced Shannon as she took off the smock that prevented hairs from falling onto his clothes.
Jimmy opened his eyes and saw that Shannon had cut his hair into a chin length bob that framed his face. Not only that, but she had dyed his hair to a nice, bright red.
