Institute for Conjoined People

added 6 years ago BM O

"Let's go inside," Jeff said, "We might as well see the other conjoined people here."

All four friends agreed, and their two bodies walked inside the main doors. Inside, they were amazed by what they saw. Everyone in the inn had been a test subject for the teleport experiment, and of course had become conjoined or multi-headed or something. It was incredible to think that Matt and Rex were the 47th result of the test, and that Jeff and John were the 48th. And, obviously, special staff had been formed here as well to keep any residents from feeling "nostalgic" about their former bodies--at least, that is what they thought. The two-headed bros approached the main desk, where a four-headed receptionist was seated. With four heads, he seemed to exemplify multitasking (yes, HE--if you thought it was a woman, that can be an offensive stereotype).

"Names?" asked his right-hand head.

"Matt and Rex," replied Max, "and Jeff and John."

"Ah yes," said the receptionist's right-hand middle head, "Dr. Rivers called recently and told us that we could expect you."

"We have sorted everything out with your families," added the left-hand middle head," and they now believe that you have always been conjoined, and that you are simply taking some time off from your normal lives."

"Well, technically that's true," said Rex, "We ARE taking time off from them..."

"Wait a minute," John asked, "What do you mean, 'now they believe we were always conjoined'?"

"I'm sorry," replied the receptionist's left-hand head, "but I'm afraid I do not have the authority nor the information to answer that question."

The receptionist then gave the boys some maps. They showed the layout of the buildings and the estate.

"Matt and Rex, you have been given room 61," said the right-hand middle head.

"Jeff and John, room 186," said the left-hand middle head.

The two-headed bodies then left for the stairs. While they journeyed to find their rooms, they met and passed several other conjoined siblings. One female had a body as wide as the receptionist's, and she also had four identical heads--her clothes seemed to be custom-made, her blue shirt seemed as though it had always had four holes for four necks. There were also four brothers, each head looked different from the others. They always wore a forest green shirt, and wore special bands around their heads so that people could tell which head was which--Leo's blue, Donnie's purple, Raph's red, and Mikey's orange. Most of the people there appeared as a wide body with two legs and arms, and obviously more than one head; however, the residents were not limited to that type of form alone. There was a man with four arms, and one had eight pairs of legs below his torso arranged as a centaur's or a centipede's. In one room, the guys noticed a book that said "Residents"; perhaps it was a list of the different types of people that were living here. Matt and Rex found room 61, and wished Jeff and John luck in finding room 186. In both cases, the rooms were suites, with certain exceptions--the desk had what seemed to be a swivel bench, there were hardly any chairs in the room, the toilet was noticeably wider, and their were clothes in the closet that seemed as though they had been made for a two-headed guy.

Matt and Rex felt weird and excited all at once; Jeff and John felt the same.
