Jill brushed against a ribbon that belonged to Lacey, a younger girl who was in the same cabin as them. Lacey was a year younger than the rest of the girls and she was a somewhat shy girl with asian heritage.
As Jill stood there a strange feeling of vertigo swept through her and her clothes started to feel larger on her body. She blinked, wondering if she was coming down with something. Going to the mirror, she was shocked first when she had to stand on tiptoes to see herself and then saw Lacey's face in the mirror. She let out a cry, and then noticed her body was much smaller.
"I....what?" She gasped. "Im....Lacey? But how..."
Then it came to her. THe message, the ring. Mary! She...she'd been someone else. And that counselor, she was meaning to turn her to someone else too! Immediately Jill had a thought, that she could pretend to be this person and cause trouble for the girls. But then she thought again. Why did she have to be mean? Why not try to use this to be friends. Besides...this was really cool. Taking up one of her own pieces of clothing, she tried the ring again and was relieved to change back. Then she left the ring and the note where she'd found it and went back out.
That night, she thought, she would talk to "Mary."
