"I'd like to see what you had in mind." Kimberly said excitedly, "You understand what I'm looking for and seem to know a lot about these items."
The wizard grinned broadly. "Excellent!" he exclaimed, "I'm sure I have just the thing around here...somewhere." He began rummaging around behind the counter tossing various artifacts over his shoulder. Kimberly barely ducked in time to dodge a book that came sailing over the counter. It hit the shelf behind her with a thud, causing a stoppered glass bottle that looked to be filled with light to fall off the top and shatter on the ground. As Kimberly examined the remains of the bottle, she saw the lights were in fact tiny humanoid figures with wings. Enjoying their newfound freedom, the pixies flitted off in various directions throughout the shop.
Paldinoss was still messing around behind the counter. "I really should hire someone to clean this place up, lots of powerful magic just laying about." he said, not noticing or not caring about the escaped creatures. "Ah well, that's a problem for another century." He came around from behind the counter and began walking among the shelves, talking to himself. "Now let's see, an old contraption perhaps? Or maybe one the new modern items I've had a go at..."
Kimberly, smiling at the old wizard's enthusiasm, waited by the counter. She didn't want to risk getting pulled in by some other object, or to get lost between the shelves. Space didn't seem to work normally here, as the sounds of Paldinoss' search seemed to come from different directions at the same time. She peered at the booked she dodged earlier. It had fallen open when it hit the shelf. While she couldn't read the runes it was written in the diagrams seemed to show a person flying through the air.
Off in the distance, or close by, Kimberly still couldn't tell, came a triumphant cry. "Aha!" the wizard exclaimed, and he soon appeared a few aisles away from where she was standing. As he came closer, Kimberly noticed he had something in his arms.
