Now as we all known the natural form of a Theran is that of a blue feathered
giant eagle the size of a DC-3 airplane.
Since Thera is chalk full of magic and infuses it into Therans,
Therans have no problem shapeshifting into a much smaller form.
That of a slender blue skinned human covered in a lot of blue eagles feathers.
So when the dwarves and humans first came to Thera 3 centuries ago it didn't
take long for the dwarves and the giant blue birds to hit it off,with
the dwarves riding on the backs of their Theran trading partners with
cargoes of the most precious spices,furs and wooden scented boxes from the
far flung reaches of Human Authority's reach.
Within recent years there had been trouble in and around spaceports,
with anarchist dwarves and Therans popping up unexpectedly in the skies above
Human Authority troop convoys and buildings and dropping one ton
bombs on the target whilst the anarchist dwarf shouted
"Human Authority equals Tryrrany.Death to all Tyrrnts"
whilst the giant blue birds sqawked angrily in their natural eagle voices similar
slogans .
Naturally the authorities had first investigated the licenced legally registered
dwarves and Therans ,but their stories had checked out.
They weren't the anarchist ring,though they'd heard rumours of secret shipments
of illegal drums of Theran magic being smuggled into spaceports.
Where "illegal" meant the import duties hadn't been paid on all this black market magic.
Which caused some grumbling amongst honest hard working Therans who had
to pay through their beak nostrils to acquire Theran magic through
Human Authority licenced outlets.
