While Iphis and Ianthe didn't have the legs for some of the Animalian Games, they certainly had the upper body muscles for others. There were plenty of track and field games that were included in the Games, including the throwing events like the shot put and the hammer. Still, some of these events required a windup involving the legs before the throw can be launched. But there was one throwing event that didn't require any leg movement: the javelin throw.
It really was the most basic principle. Iphis's larger arm had the most muscle so they'll be throwing left-handed. The only caveat was that typically a running start was required for the javelin throw. And while snake Animalians could slither pretty fast if they wanted to, it wasn't quite the same. But a special amendment has been made for the anaconda twins' case.
Iphis and Ianthe slithered out onto the field, looking at the seated audience. They soon spotted Waterlily and Typhoon in the seats cheering for them. That gave the pair the encouragement to go forward. Not that they were embarrassed about the very tight shirt they were wearing, but it made them feel that they could pull this off. They slithered forward until their front was three inches from the last line. The audience quieted down, wondering what they would do.
Then, with no small effort of skill, Iphis and Ianthe began to lift up their body, flexing their tail muscles hard to lift the upper part of their body higher off the ground. This was no mere fete of strength. While snake Animalians could rear up high on the end of their tails in theory, it took a lot of effort to hoist more than their upper body into the air. One could compare it to the leg extension weight training. And while an anaconda's coils were very strong, they weren't built to keep their bodies upright like cobras could. The Animalian Virus changed the rules, but it was still a very impressive fete that Iphis and Ianthe could lift themselves so high, especially considering their huge upper body.
The twin-headed anaconda's body rose until the humanoid part was a clear four feet off the ground. That alone was very noteworthy, even if the two did flub their throw. Once they reached their maximum height, Iphis readied the javelin before allowing themselves to fall forward, gravity soon increasing momentum. Before they hit the ground, Iphis threw the javelin, sending it flying forward. The momentum from the fall was enough to make the javelin fly faster and soon stuck in the ground a very respectable distance away. The officials ran out to measure the landing point. Soon they made the official length: 92.08 meters.
That caused a loud roar from the crowd. It was certainly a lot more than most men have been able to throw, though not the highest. If this were a human competition, she definitely be a shoe-in for a gold medal. Though considering Animalians were stronger than humans, it was yet to be seen if Iphis and Ianthe had won or not. But the results did look promising.
