Suddenly for a brief second, your mind is given a brief second of thought and personality. In those seconds you try finding where you are but sensed nothing. You see nothing, you feel nothing, you smelled nothing, and other than the ever constant presence of the voice you heard nothing either.
"So... don't keep me waiting now... which divine domain do you want mortal?" The voice says, a sigh of impatience in its voice. You should choose quickly.
You've always liked the concept of a fire mage in fantasy and you loved watching volcano eruptions, they just felt so powerful! So in your haste you blurted out "I choose the flame domain."
"Flame domain huh? No such thing, I' ll give you the fire domain instead." The voice says mischeviously.
Suddenly you feel yourself thrust downwards into lava, and for a second you felt a searing pain enveloping your entire body. You tried to scream out in agony but found you couldn't speak again, you could only burn here for all eternity as it felt like molten magma sipping into your every pore. Then the painful sensation stopped.
Soon your awareness expanded and you felt strange. You felt the hot pain flow away into a warm embrace. You felt heat, and fire, and lava, but they didn't hurt. Instead you didn't just feel them, you were them, those sensations were a part of you. Even the molten core of the earth was a part of you now, you just needed the strength to make those parts move to you whim. You felt like eventually you might even be able to move the sun itself and the countless other stars throughout the cosmos as well.
"You probably feel really strange now don't ya? Welcome to Godhood then, but you can celebrate on your own, I'm not interested in that kind of stuff. You'll discover your powers on your own and you might eventually be able to snag yourself another divine domain from some other incompetent god if your lucky. For now let's continue to the next step." The voice says in your mind.
You give a small nod, still in awe of the feeling you felt within the gigantic mass of your new fiery body.
"Now, as a God you'll need a new world to begin your conquests, at the start you won't be able to fully manifest into a world but as you get more divine power you'll be able to affect things on a grand scale but for now the most you can do is very little. So next up is to send you to a world where you can begin to spread your influence onto the natives. Remember your followers are your life, the divine power you have right now will only sustain you for so long so you'll need to harvest divine power from your followers. So speaking of which, which world do you want to start in?"
