You find some rocks along the shoreline. You drag the mermaid over there. Sitting on the rocks, you decide to examine the mermaid further by laying her on your lap. Your'e relieved that she can also breathe in air. She was still unconscious.
If you told your eight year-old self that you rescued a real life mermaid, you wouldn't believe yourself. You've always loved mermaids. Your favorite movies are Disney's The Little Mermaid and Splash, and your favorite tv shows are h2o and Mako. You've tried out mermaid tails at home, but they never felt real.
Examining the mermaid, you look closely at the line where her tummy ends and her tail begins. Upon further inspection, you notice her seashell bra is physically attached to her skin, as if she grew it. Her body glimmered in the sunlight, and her face looked like makeup was permanently on her. She looked beautiful.
You let out a moan of longing. Wait, where did that come from. You're not gay...are you?
Of course, you thought. You can't be gay. You spent your entire high school life chasing boys. Yet seeing the mermaid's beauty seems to have called something inside you, like your inner mer begging to be released. You can't take it anymore. You leaned in and kissed her.
It was magical. You lean back, hoping to see a reaction. She wakes up, looks at you, and immediately smiles.
"Oh my..." she coos in a melody like voice. "Which beautiful soul am I looking at?"
You feel like you're gonna cry, you can't even speak. She puts her hand on your cheek, sits up, and returns the kiss. It lasts for a good couple of minutes, yet it felt like forever. After kissing you tell her your name.
"What a beautiful name," she says, stroking your arm. "My name is Liara. I see you wish to know more about me and my people." You blush and nod your head yes. "Let me show you..."
