You hand Paul the ring. You already told him everything, and this is your best friend. You'd take a bullet for the guy, so you're fine with sharing your new power with him. And a small part of you is a little curious on what he has planned.
"Sweet! No offense," Paul begins as he slides the ring on, "but lets get out of here. I don't want to trade anything with you, dude, and I need some inspiration." The two of you slide on your shoes and walk out of the apartment. Paul is giving everyone he passes some not so obvious glances. Not that they know what's going on, of course, but he must look conspicuous. As you walk, a thought occurs to you.
"Paul." You get his attention, and he stops. The two of you are in a local park. "That... thing... does what it's supposed to, right?" You speak quietly, you don't want anyone to hear what the two of you are talking about. "Well yeah dude, you kinda proved that, right?" Paul is talking a little louder than you'd like. "So," you continue, "we should stop back at the place I got it." Paul's eyes widen, and you turn to go, but then he grabs you by the shoulder. "Wait." You turn to see what he wants.
Paul nods subtly in front of him. Standing there is a police officer, looking around the park. You're not sure what he's doing, but he's got his hands on his hips. He's a young guy for a cop, but he's probably 5 or 6 years older than either of you. His copper colored hair is shining brightly in the sun, and he's squinting. Not a redhead, but close. He's tall, with a muscular build. His biceps look huge, even from this distance, and although his legs are obscured by loose slacks, you get the sense they're pretty strong too. He has some stubble that frames his mouth, which is fixed in a slight frown. "That's the guy." Paul says.
