After Amy woke up, Tad thanked her for letting him stay the night at her house before he left the Howler house and walked down the street to his own home. It was still early in the morning, so not many cars were out on the street yet, which made it easier for Tad to get home. When he got up to his front door, Tad was about to reach into his pocket and grab his house key, when he hear someone moving around inside. He pulled his hand out of his pocket and knocked on the door. After a few seconds, he watched as the doorknob twisted and the door opened, but to his surprise, it wasn't his mother standing there. Instead, it was a woman with blonde hair and a slightly slimmer figure.
"Um...who are you?" Tad asked. He was about to ask something else, when he heard his mother's voice yell, "Is that Tad?" The woman turned her head back and said "I believe it is. I haven't met him in person." The woman then turned her head back to Tad and said, "My name is Claire. I'm a friend of your mother's. You must be Tad. Jen's told me so much about you! It's so very nice to meet you in person!"
Tad smiled and walked inside, shutting the door behind him. "It's very nice to meet you too Ms. Claire," he said politely. "I don't ever remember my mom mentioning a 'Claire' when she told me about when she went to school here." Claire nodded and said, "That's because we met last night while your mother was chaperoning. We talked a bit about how I wanted to be a werecat like your mother was, and....she volunteered to transform me."
Tad nodded, despite feeling a little uncomfortable. Jen then walked over to where the two were standing and kissed her son. "I take it that Claire told you about what we did last night," she said, gesturing to Tad's slight blush. "Well don't worry too much. I was just helping a friend get what she wanted."
"Alright," Tad said. "At least you had a good time last night. I'm going to go up to my room and put my Halloween costume in the closet. I'll come back down in a few minutes." Tad squeezed past his mom and Claire and walked upstairs to his room.
