It was impossible for any of the guys to be conjoined today. The dads, Ethan and Scott, could not skip work, and none of the boys would be conjoined at school--most of the gang went to school as conjoined siblings yesterday, and it was likely that they would not be able to today. In fact, before leaving the house, Luke and his dad Ethan had to use their powers to separate their overnight guests--Leo, Donnie, Raph, and Mikey--who had spent the night there as conjoined quadruplets. After breakfast and the morning walks to school, the real struggle began. In each class, at least two of the guys were together, and it began to get on the guys' nerves that they could be attached to each other. After the morning classes, the thirteen guys met in the library during the lunch period--they knew a corner of the library where no one would be able to overhear them.
"What are we gonna do about this?" Luke asked.
"I don't know," Mark said.
"By now, we've all grown attached to being attached to at least one of us," Max replied.
"And we must all be sick of being split up," Zack added.
"Everyone knows that we have each been separate," Brian said.
"And there is no way that they would allow us to remain conjoined siblings," Nick added.
"And what about the town?" Allan said.
"He has a point," Dean said, "all the people we know would get suspicious."
"And I can't think of a way that we could pull all this off without someone finding out," Leo added.
"There must be some way to do this," Mikey said.
"Yeah. I for one want to be 'close' with my brothers," Raph smiled.
The boys thought for a while, wondering what they could do so that they could always be conjoined to someone, that they would not HAVE to "split up", and that everyone would believe that they--along with Ethan and Scott, the fathers of Luke and Mark, Max, and Zack, respectively--had always been like this.
"I know," Donnie said.
"What is it?" Kevin asked.
"When we followed you guys home yesterday, Luke explained everything along with Brian and Nick," Donnie said.
"So?" Max asked.
"They mentioned that the suit, along with Luke and Ethan's power, came from a mall Santa granting their wishes," Donnie replied.
"We were there when it happened," Mark said, "and that guy only granted the four of us one wish each."
"Actually," Luke said, "now that I think of it, he granted me two wishes--first the suit, and then later to separate from my dad."
"Does that mean he could grant us wishes?" Dean asked.
"If we asked him, maybe," Luke answered.
"In the meantime, we could each give each other the power to fuse freely," Zack suggested.
"Yeah! Luke accidentally gave me that power when we fused completely," Max added.
"It's a start," Brian replied, "but that still wouldn't help with the problem of the world."
"Oh yeah." Max sighed after he said this.
"Look, we can all agree that we can't do anything about this now," Luke said.
"Right." Mark said. "Let's just get through today and talk it over with your dad and my dad later."
The teens all agreed, and went back to their classes. After sucking up being apart for a couple more hours, they were finally able to leave school. As soon as they went out the doors, they rushed back to Luke's house; Ethan and Scott would not be home for another hour, but the teens were ready to be conjoined siblings again.
