As you stare at your reflection you reason that you have no guarantee that things will return back to normal tomorrow and that you do not have any other clothes to change into should you be ‘stuck’ like this for good. For this reason you decide to go clothes shopping at the out of town mall.
You put on a pair of ankle socks and find a pair of black sneakers to go with your all-black ensemble and slip in your meatier feet. You realise that your feet were wider now with all their new overlying bulk and you were having difficulty putting on the sneakers. You loosen the laces and your feet fit, even though snugly at the sides. You wiggle your toes and notice that they have enough room at the front; your feet just seem wider but not longer.
With the ring still on, you grab your keys and wallet and head out.
You unlock your car and step into the driver’s seat latching on the seat belt. It’s difficult to overlook how everything seems much more constricting and smaller with your new bulkier frame.
Your drive to the mall is uneventful. You park and make your way in with your new swaggering sway.
