Alice continued her preparations for the Halloween Dance. She placed her unlaced candy on the treat table next to the laced punch. She took a moment to take a sniff at the punch, and she confirmed that she couldn't smell it. She smiled at her result. The drug had a strong smell and taste, so Alice had to be careful about the dosage. Peanut butter could mask the taste, but punch was a bit harder. She had to be careful with the dosage. Large enough to affect people drinking it, but small enough so that it would be undetectable through normal smell and taste. She smiled at her results so far, and if Melissa took a drink of this punch, it wouldn't be long before she felt the effects. Alice didn't dare taste the punch, lest she fall into her own trap. But she was satisfied with the smell test and was confident that her drug wouldn't be easily detected by smell or taste. She stirred the punch once more before getting the rest of her stuff. After gathering her stuff, she made her way to the stage to drop off the specially wrapped candy that would act as prizes for the costume contest. The candy was naturally unlaced. Alice wasn't that stupid.
'Now that's over and the punch's been spiked,' she thought to herself, 'Now I just need a way to make sure that Melissa Jenkins drinks that punch...' It was at that point that she ran into a bunch of boys setting up a few things on the walls of the hallway. A quick sniff confirmed that they were wereraccoon boys, and she smiled at the opportunity. "Oh boys," she called out, giving her best smile to the teenage boys. The trio of boys looked at her and smiled. One of them that was sitting atop a ladder called out and said, "Aren't you...Decrux? I think I remember hearing that you got into a fight with Ms. McCoy and she changed a normal."
Alice sighed and said, "Ah yes, that was all a misunderstanding. I'll admit that we got into a little tussle, but it was all cleared up." She paused and asked, "Do any of you boys know a girl named Melissa Jenkins?"
The three boys looked at her and one of them said, "I think I remember her. I think I have an English class with her."
"Good," she said with a big grin on her face. "Look, I think she got the wrong understanding of us. Could one of you boys talk to her? Show her that we aren't monsters or anything? Maybe give her a cup of punch as a peace offering?"
The three boys looked at each other and shrugged. One of them said, "I don't see why not. Sure, we'll do it."
She smiled as she said, "Oh, thank you very much. I really do appreciate it." She then moved close to the three boys and whispered, "And if you stop by my shop later tonight, I'll show you how much I appreciate it." She grinned as she walked away, the three boys staring at her as she walked. 'The trap's all set,' she thought to herself as she made her way to the car. 'The only thing left to do is to wait...'
