"Shit, not again," Tony groaned as he walked out of the costume shop.
"Well this is what happens when you leave it so late," Ben snapped at his friend. "I can't believe you waited until this afternoon to tell me you hadn't found any costumes for us yet!"
Tony considered flipping Ben off, but settled on just glaring instead. He did after all, volunteer to find costumes for Ben and himself for the party tonight. It wasn't his fault that the girls at Lambda Gamma Gamma had distracted him yesterday with their beer and their boo-
"Damn it, you’re not even listening!"
"Uh, sorry?" Tony decided now was the time to unleash his patented 'innocent and sorry' look. While this usually worked on most girls (and a few guys) on campus, Ben however, was immune.
"Come on, there's still one more place. Nick said it’s where the rest of the wrestling team got theirs," Ben said, still annoyed.
Tony got into the car and watched Ben drive them to their new destination, completely silent. Tony finally worked up the courage to apologise.
"Look, Ben, I really am sorry about all of this." His friend shook his head and smiled.
"Don't worry 'bout it bud. I'm just a little tired- they had me pull a double shift last night. I didn't mean to snap at ya back there."
Ben parked the car and looked up and down the road.
"It should be around here somewhere. Let's hope they still have something available."
It wasn't long before the two found the recommended shop, down an alley from the busy street. On the front door was a sign reading 'Body Shapers'.
"This is it," Ben said as they entered. Inside they saw costumes, masks and a plethora of gag items that you'd usually find in a novelty store.
"Dude, check it out!" Toy nudged his companion and pointed to the sex toys on display off in one corner.
"Can I help you boys?" They turned to see an old man walk out from behind a curtain, catching a glimpse of another room.
"Oh, yeah," Tony said, overcoming his shock, "We were wondering if you had any costumes for hire?"
"Ah yes. You've come a little late, so the selection is quite limited now. I'll see what we have left. Take a look around, everything is half price today, and anything you see on that table there," he pointed to one in the middle of the room, "is completely complementary. Be back in a minute." The shop owner turned and disappeared behind the curtain as the two walked over to the freebies.
"Hey look. 'Fart Fizzer'," Ben held up a container "'Dissolve one pill in liquid or swallow dry for a greater effect. Stand back, they're gonna blow!'. We should bring some of these to the party." He held the packet up to Tony.
"Man, that stuff never works - everyone knows that. He just put it here 'cause they ain't moving." Tony sifted through some more items. "Seriously, look at this junk. Invisible powder and hey, something for you!" Tony held up a canister with 'Penis Enlarging Powder' printed on the front.
"Ha ha, very funny. If you don't think it works then try some, or are you chicken?" Ben started to make clucking noises.
"I'm not chicken. I could finish that whole thing if I wanted to." Tony crossed his muscular arms over his well-developed chest.
"Okay then, I dare you to polish off the whole thing."
