It was quite an honor to be chosen for the cover couple of one of the issues of Animalia Magazine. Last month, that honor went to Eugene and Melanie, which made sense considering they were Bald Eagle Animalians and the last month had been Independence Day's month. August had the slight problem of being a month with no big holidays, so the publishers decided to go for another summer theme. 'Dog days' was something that sprang to mind regarding summer. There were plenty of canine couples in Animalia, but the publishers picked the most popular couples known to the world at large.
To say that the Wesley sisters were excited about being on the cover of Animalia Magazine would be...an understatement. As soon as they got the phone call offering it, they both let out a loud teenaged girl squeal, the kind that made dogs wince in pain. Which made it mercifully brief as their own ears were hurt. Still, they were as giddy as possible. They couldn't wait to share the news with their boyfriends.

The ideal place to do the photoshoot would have been on the beach. But since beaches were hard to come by in Nevada, they made due with an artificial backdrop at the studio. After all, it was only for the cover. To best represent the dog days, the four canines decided to don their beachwear.
"Suddenly, I'm having second thoughts about this," said Sarah, looking down at her palm leaf print bikini, "I'm worried I'm giving too much fanservice."
"Sarah, we've been giving fanservice ever since our webshow started," said Malice, "Besides, they've already seen our swimsuits on it."
"Besides, they're just going to take one photo for the cover and let us ago," said Travis, "It's not like we're doing any exclusives."
"That's not quite so," said Simon. The others looked at him with interest. "They asked me to answer a few questions about the IAC Drug Scare," said Simon, "They're doing an article about it."
"That's quite an achievement," said Travis.
"That's nothing," said Malice with her tail wagging, "He's gonna be interviewed about it on national TV."
"Well, I'm not trying to milk it or anything," said Simon modestly.
"Oh, I know we're gonna make the best police duo ever," said Malice excitedly.
"Heh, makes my future job as a firefighter look boring," said Travis.
"Oh, don't say that," said Simon, "Firefighters save people's lives all the time."
"At least you guys have your careers figured out," said Sarah, "I'm still trying to think of what to do with myself."
"As long as we're covering emergency groups, you could be a doctor," said Malice.
"I'm not sure. I don't feel a particular calling to be a doctor," said Sarah.
"You'll have time to figure it out," said Travis, "It's not like we're going to be strapped for cash anytime soon."
"Yeah, besides, we still have three years left of high school," said Malice. She turned to Simon and said, "I envy how you're already graduated."
"I'll really consider myself graduated when I'm done with police academy," said Simon.
Just then, one of the photographer's aides came over and said, "Ok, we're just about ready to start shooting."
"How many photos will this take?" asked Sarah.
"Might take a few," said the aide, "We'll trying different positions to see which works best for the cover. But at least you won't spend all day posing."
"Oh, I wouldn't mind," said Malice, hefting up her bust, "It's not like I have a bad side to capture."
"Incorrigible, isn't she?" asked Sarah dryly.
