Sue pours herself some tea then offers the kettle to her brother Harry. “I'm surprised that the musher wanted us watching his kennel.”
Harry, filling his own mug full of steaming tea, peers questionly over to his sister. “Why? You never stop talking about how great his dogs are. Bet he thinks you have the hots for him or something.”
Narrowing her green eyes Sue glares at her brother trying to deciding if that was meant as a joke. “Like you've never said anything about wanting one of Amber’s puppies.”
Now smirking openly Jon pauses and looks about the kitchen. “Speaking of Amber where is she?”
“Can't you hear her panting and pacing in the other room? Bet those barks are calls for Keula.”
Both humans turn towards the hallway as the sounds of the restless bitch begin sounding closer till the malamute herself is seen running into the kitchen. “Keula! Keula where are you?” Frantic, weeping, her sides bulging, blood and amniotic fluid soiling her fur, Amber does not even pause to glance at the humans, too busy in her search. Besides she still does not trust those two legged dogs no matter what Keula has to say about the matter.
