As William and Martha Anderson drove their youngest child and his fiance to the annual Halloween dance (in Moon Lake, Andersons: ♫Let's Dance♫) and the Jenkins family was settling into the Harper household for the night (in Moon Lake, Andersons: ♫Getting to know you♫) Nate Anderson walked across the open expanse of land between the back of his household to the backdoor of his boyfriend's house to pick Alex Ramsey up for the dance.
Alex opened the back door on the second knock, happy to see his boyfriend standing before him.
Nate was proudly displaying his werewolf fursona, but a confused Alex asked, "That's what you're wearing to the dance?"
Nate had on an over sized white shirt, which couldn't be buttoned because of his large furry lupine chest, and nothing else. But Alex did notice that Nate had both paws behind his back, as if hiding something.
"I thought long and hard about what to wear for Halloween this year, considering that this is not only my first one in Moon Lake, but also my first as the werewolf I've always wanted to be," said Nate, as a smile crossed his muzzle. "Then it dawned on me that there was only one thing more important in my life than being a werewolf. You," he added, before putting on the chef's hat that he was hiding behind his back.
Alex just stared as Nate gave him a quick kiss on the muzzle. "What do you think? I may not have your cooking skills, but I do think I can make this hat unashamed of its wearer, even when furry," Nate said with a smile.
"Nate..." said Alex, before giving his fellow werewolf and lover a hug.
The young couple just stood there on Alex's back porch and held each other for awhile.
Nate wasn't sure if he felt tears on his furry chest, but wasn't about to speak and ruin the moment.
Then, when they finally stopped hugging, Nate looked at Alex and asked, "What are you wearing?"
"This?" asked the other werewolf in return, as he moved to straighten out the very large, but unbuttoned, black jacket he had on. "Turns out we've thought along similar lines this year Stud," said Alex, while using his pet name for Nate.
"This will be the first Halloween dance I've ever attended where I'm not only out and about, so to speak," Alex said, referring to the fact that while he never made his sexual preferences a secret, he was never public or 'in your face' about them either, "but that I have a date for the dance too. So, after thinking about it, I asked my dad if I could borrow his tuxedo jacket for tonight. Thankfully, even in his regular form he's bigger than me, otherwise this might not fit at all.
"I'm a few years early," added Alex, because of the fact both of them were only 16 right now, "but I'm your future blushing groom to be," he said with a smile.
"You'll always be my man," said Nate, while affectionately caressing Alex's muzzle.
"And you're mine," replied Alex, running a paw across Nate's furry chest.
"So, would you like to skip the dance and—"
"Not on your life bub! We're going and gonna have a great time," said Alex, before locking the back door of his house and slipping the key into a jacket pocket.
"Shall we?" asked Alex, while holding out a paw.
"Always Handsome," happily answered Nate, using his pet name for Alex.
And together, the happy couple walked to the Halloween dance and the fun night that awaited them.
