The door opens and the room fills with people. At the front is a very old man with a white beard wearing a long clean white robe. He is carrying a small brown satchel. The King and Queen are following closely behind him.
"Here she is, dear. I don't know what happened. She just came into my room speaking nonsense and passed out. I think she may have a case of 'brain fever'. Is there anything you can do for her?" says the Queen.
"That lying witch!" says Cordelia, now trapped in the body of the griffon. "She knows that her potion caused this. Tell the truth you liar!"
Although you can understand Cordelia, the others hear nothing but caws and squawks.
"Perhaps she caught the disease from that wild beast. It is certainly acting rabid. Maybe it should be put down, " says the Queen.
Cordelia rages at the Queen, yelling all sorts of profanities at her. The old man tries to ignores her. He pulls out a strange device and places it against your heart, listening closely. You realize he must be some sort of doctor. Or whatever passes for a doctor in this strange place. Maybe a healer or something. The doctor frowns and glares at Cordelia, still squawking at the Queen. The King senses his frustration.
"Can someone quiet that beast so this man can work? I don't care how, kill it if need be, " says the King.
Cordelia stops, shocked at her father's request.
"I can always get her another pet, but I only have one Cordelia. I would do anything for my beloved daughter, " says the King on the verge of tears.
Cordelia is touched, almost crying herself. The Queen can barely hide her disgust.
"I cannot find anything physically wrong. I am afraid there is nothing I can do for her, " says the doctor. The King looks heartbroken. "Perhaps it is some kind of curse. Maybe we should consult a wizard or shaman..."
"No, I don't think that will be necessary, " says the Queen. "I am sure this is no magical affliction."
"I don't know, dear. We shouldn't rule anything out, " says the King.
The King and Queen begin to debate the next course of action. You are about to settle the matter by simply opening your mouth and talking when Cordelia stops you, placing a talon on your hand.
"Wait. The Queen thought that she was swapping my mind with one belonging to a griffon. An ordinary griffon, not one that had once been human. You know, one that can't speak English. She probably expects you just to babble or speak nonsense. Then she can claim I am insane and her son will inherit the kingdom. It might be a good idea to play dumb for now. Then again, if you don't speak up, you might end up locked away in an asylum. And who knows what the Queen will do with me!? What do you think, Jenna?" asks Cordelia.
