While most uplifted Animalians didn't understand late night comedy shows like Saturday Night Live, the people behind it were more than glad to explain it as silly stupidity for adults shown when most children would be in bed, and also a chance for comedians to poke fun at news and pop culture that happened during the week without worrying about reprisal.
One thing Clara certainly didn't expect was meeting the people behind SNL for her approval of several Animalia-based skits they had been working on, but she was glad they were running them before her first before showing them.

One such skit poked fun at the government's SNAFU at trying to muzzle Animalia's freedom. Each issue (creating a national age of consent at 21, trying to take away Animalia's right to vote, and trying to get Animalians into the military, to name a few) had a debate that cited real historical facts for such a decision, but each one was neatly shot down by the rebuttal by those opposed to the idea. Eventually, near the end of the skit, one politician complained that "the laws are in limbo, and we're back to square zero."
A second skit poked fun at a typical sci-fi trope: time travel. In it, one Horizon scientist used a time travel machine to obtain dinosaur DNA, and how Dinotopians (after a book/television series of the same name) would have similar difficulties fitting into Animalians society.
A third showed a probable future where Clara would become the first female Animalian to become President of the United States, as well as the first president since George Washington to be unanimously elected. It also showed her seemingly overwhelmingly positive political, social, medical, and economic reforms. This skit was nullified by Clara, mainly because of the strain that was already between Animalia and the government, and she felt that she wasn't ready for such stress.

Eventually, the skit that poked fun at the government's attempt to control Animalia was chosen, mainly because most people knew not to take SNL skits seriously. Clara was glad of that, sincerely hoping that such a skit wouldn't be used against them.
