Because they took a little detour trying to get Ilvir out of the crypt, the two are now a little farther away from the source of corruption then when they first met. That's not exactly a bad thing in Isaac's mind. After all, he now has a companion to rely on for when he has to face whatever is at the source of the corruption. Now it only a mater of traversing through this new passage way and making it back to the source. Isaac can tell that they're already getting closer by the minute.
They're progress was monetary halted however when they came upon a cave like area full of mirror-like crystals. Some of the crystals were bigger then even Isaac.
Ilvir looked around the sparkly room. "To think such a lustrous room could be in such a vile place."
But Isaac wasn't paying attention to Ilvir, he was more interested in the reflections he's seeing on the mirrors. Or better yet, the visions he is seeing through the mirrors. And he didn't like all of the reflections he is seeing.
It seems these mirrors are showing him alternate versions of himself if he were to make a different decision at any point on his quest. And some of the reflections he sees outright disgusted him. Some of the realities he saw were him as a female. Other realities has him stop resisting the corruption and become a fully fledged demon or dragoness.
There is one reality were he accepted that witch's offer and traded his corrupted dick for a women's vagina. He became more vulnerable to the crypt's dangers as a result. It's great that this version of Isaac still considers himself a male despite having a vagina. On the other hand, Isaac was watching as Nathan, a sorceror from the magic institute and crypt survivor was unintentionally enhancing Isaac's estrogen in order to give him more strength. If Isaac were able to meet the Isaac of his reality, he would be a great help to Isaac's party since Isaac is still a male in this reality.
Isaac was particularly disturbed by the replies were he became dragoness and accepted life as one. One reality has him foolishly accept a offer from a dragoness of life known as Flora's to become dragoness like her. Yet, in another reality, he became a ice dragonesss instead of gaining ice demon qualities. Most of these realities has him give up his manhood at some point. And it angers him more than any monster he has encountered thus far.
One reality however has piqued his interest. In this reality, he was capture by a giant black widow spider only to be rescued by a red dragon with a ring very similar to his Ring of Purity. The mirror is currently showing her and his counterpart staying at a old lab somewhere in the crypt. Supposedly, the red dragon is actually a apprentice to Grevialus, a mysterious professor who happens to be Crawnav's teacher! That also means that this red dragon was a fellow student of Crawnav! Apparently, the red dragon's name is Sera and she was turned into a dragon due to a experimental accident. At least she's not trying to turn Isaac into a dragoness like the dragon-like creatures he seen so far. When he gets the chance, he should recruit her to his party. She would be a great help. He just hopes that she exists in his reality. Isaac also noticed that she is also wearing a ring of purity to protect her mind from corruption.
The idea of getting another ring of purity intrigued him. Having another ring of help protect his mind from his growing corruption. Out of curiosity, he tried putting his hand through a random mirror to see if he can enter another reality. Upon putting his hand through the mirror, one of his other dimensional counterpart noticed him. From his perspective, a demon's hand just appeared out of nowhere. Isaac quickly pulled his hand back as his counterpart tried to attack it with his weapon.
It seems these mirrors allow travel to alternate universes. Isaac's mind reeled with the many possibilities presented to him. He could go to a different reality a get another ring of purity. He can strengthen his resistance against corruption! He can also try recruiting his counterparts and their companions to join him on his quest. The more companions the better. He can also take a darker path and try to take his counterpart's corruption through his special knife. A corrupt part of him is telling him that corruption is power and that he should get more powerful to prepare for future encounters. Isaac shook his head to clear his thoughts.
There is so much he can do with these trans-dimensional mirrors. What are these crystal-like mirrors even doing here? On the other hand, the power to travel to alternate universes seems like too much responsibility. He could just grab Ilvir and leave this room.
After a few moments, Isaac made his decision.
