Isaac was distraught. Any one of these door could lead to the source of corruption. They could also lead to a trap. Isaac pondered until he came to a realization. He can't let self doubt take control of him now. He was a paladin and he still is at heart. He can't let something as minor as a crossroad stop him now.
With a boost of courage (or stupidity), Isaac entered a random doorway. Ilvir followed suit.
Upon entering the doorway, they were in a cave made of reflective glass. It's like the cave walls was completely covered with mirrors.
Issac can sense that the source of corruption was closer, but he can also tell that it's not in this room. Isaac decided to go back to The Hall Of Open Paths and try a different doorway. But as Issac turned around, he was shocked to see that the doorway they came in from has disappeared!
Isaac let out a annoyed grunt.
There is no tuning back now. The only thing to do now is to keep going forward.
The two half-demons began their trek through the cave of mirrors.
...
Isaac and Ilivir has been wandering the cave for hours and they're still no less lost then when they first started.
The problem was that the mirrored walls were giving off a sense of misdirection. It's hard to tell what is a wall and what wasn't. The only way to tell if a wall is in font of them is if a reflection of themselves was standing right in front of them. Isaac tried breaking the glass to see if there wes normal rock underneath, but was disappointed to find out that the entire cave was made out of a mirror like substance.
Furthermore, the reflections were the most disturbing part of this place. Instead of seeing his own body, Isaac sees all kinds of different creatures on the mirrors. The unsettling part is that Isaac can somehow tell that these inaccurate reflections of himself are actually different versions of himself. He doesn't know why he knows, he just does.
Among the many versions he has seen, there is a female ice dragoness, a human version of himself from before he was corrupted, and a corrupted cock tree that resembles Isaac himself.
Some versions of him has the ring of purity while others don't.
What's even stranger about these mirrors is that they sometimes show more then one person. They all show a version of Isaac, yet some shows someone else standing next to them. For example, one mirror shows Isaac as a nature dragoness standing next to another nature dragoness. Another mirror shows a human version of himself standing to Nathan, a mage from back home.
Issac was a little disturbed by the sheer number of female dragoness versions of himself. Isaac wouldn't willingly give up his manhood. Would he?
On the flip side, there are fully demon versions of himself who gave in to the corruption. And most of them were male...
Isaac was about to ask Ilvir about these reflections, but he got his answer from seeing Ilivir's expression. Illivir looked disgusted at whatever he was looking at. Is Ilivir seeing the same thing Isaac is seeing?
Isaac knew that there was something wrong with this mirror cave, but he's not sure what. For some reason, he is afraid of touching the mirrors, but he is also very tempted in touching them as well. There's something about these mirrors that reminds Isaac of a door. He doesn't understand why though.
No matter how much the duo walked, there were no indication of a exit or any other inhabitant of the cave.
Isaac and Ilivir is alone.
It's like time has stood still. They were no more tired or hungry then when they first entered the mirror cave. It's as if their bodies can't change anymore. It's like their bodies are cut off from time...
