"My turn," Ty said. "We may have to go out back."
Dustin was a bit confused, but he decided to allow it. There were large trees covering the backyard, but it allowed shade and privacy from neighbors and their houses--it was good enough for outdoor transformations. As Dustin prepared for Ty to transform, he noticed that Ty was writing something down on a new note. Dustin would have thought that Ty was cheating, as he had already put several wishes in the pile upstairs. However, he decided to let Ty give this wish--it's not like he was going to top the 16-year-old Dustin's new seven-foot-six height.
Dustin would be proven wrong. Ty handed him the note and Dustin read:
"You will become freakishly tall, and your clothes will grow with you into basketball clothes."
As soon as Dustin finished reading, he realized what this meant: seven-foot-six was not necessarily freakishly tall, meaning Ty had a larger height in mind for his fifteen-year-old five-foot-six body. It was too late for Dustin to take the wish back, and he could not anyway--it was against the rules, which meant the younger Ty was going to be taller for at least the next five minutes. First, Ty's arms and legs grew out; his outstretched arms shot out, visibly growing faster than they ever could without the wish's power. Ty was also sitting down, so his spread legs simply grew out across the grass, with Dustin right between them. When Ty's limbs were finished, his torso followed suit. His torso was two feet from shoulders to waist, but the two boys watched (Ty with anticipation and Dustin in awe) as it began to shoot up: two-feet-three, two-feet-six, two-feet-nine, three feet, three-feet-three, three-feet-six, three-feet-nine, four feet, four-feet-three, four-feet-six, four-feet-nine, five-feet, five-feet-three, five-feet-six, five-feet-nine, six feet, six-feet-three, six-feet-six, six-feet-nine, seven feet! When Ty stood up on his longer legs, the two boys were amazed: sixteen-year-old Dustin was seven-foot-six, but fifteen-year-old Ty was now more than twice as tall at seventeen feet even! Ty now wore a basketball jersey and shorts, while still wearing his original sneakers.
"Well, it was fun being this tall while it lasted," Dustin said. He was a bit upset that Ty was now twice as tall as he was.
"I could make our transformations last longer," Ty said, "especially if you feel like doing something else like this."
"Really?" Dustin asked.
"Sure! This could allow us to 'reach new heights'," Ty laughed.
Dustin laughed as well, and Ty then wished that they would remain at the new heights until Ty wanted them back to normal--then they could get back to their transformation game inside.
