The two girls were in Sam's room with the lights shut off, huddled behind the bed side furthest from the window. Helena was ducked in the kitchen with Jay's wife, Karen, and Jay taking cover by the window next to the door. He occasionally glanced under the blinds to check for the source of the sound, his gun ready to fire if need be.
"Does this happen a lot up here?" Sara asked hugging the ride close to her chest.
"Not usually, those things are pretty agile but they don't normally get too close to the house. The creatures don't travel this far into the mountains, and the ones that do are pretty fierce." The strawberry blonde explained.
Sara, wanting to act tough, crawled to the window with Sam reluctantly following behind. She peaked through the window and was shocked to find the figure of a woman starring back at her. The woman outside was young, with tattered and scarce remnants of clothes on her unusually pale body, the stranger was bald and climbed up the house to the girl's window. They both jumped back in fear, Sam readied her knife and Sara shakily help her gun up.
The short haired blonde slowly lowered it when she saw the creature-like woman move her mouth as if she was attempting to say something, but no words came.
Then the thing lept off the window in a gracious backflip then ran into the woods, glancing back as if it had forgotten something but continued forward.
After a few more minutes the two elected not to tell their parents as the thing didn't actually do anything but agreed to board up the window. After sleeping through the rest of the night without incident the girls came down for a simple breakfast before helping Sara's mother unpack the car.
