As the car drove trough the empty road, rows of tall trees lined each side of the road. Everything was going smooth until Carly began to unexpectedly vomit a black substance, the van came to a stop with a Susan and Jen going outside to check on the girl. Dr.Veil lingered near the car door, not making eye contact with the three.
Susan noticed this and grabbed the doctor by her shirt,
"What did you do!?" She hissed.
"I'm sorry. Shortly after you were taken to save your sister, another doctor took Carly and gave her the same deal. I swear I had no idea!" She explained trembling in the blonde's grip.
Susan looked back at her sister then and then to the woman in her grip,
"What did they do to her?" She asked again,
"From what I understand the serum they gave her was supposed to be the improved version of the Z2-409 formula, it's specifics are classified but all I can tell you is that your sister is essentially...one of, those things." She said much to Susan's anger.
"You mean she's a walker!?" She growled,
"No. Not exactly. While she shares certain traits of the infected, like their undying nature, heightened senses and some appearances. She now should theoretically be able to regenerate injuries, increased strength, and is practically invisible to the undead and even hypothesized telepathy to some degree." Dr.Veil replied studiously.
"Oh and before you ask, no it cannot be reversed. Again I'm sorry." She added and the blonde let her go.
Checking on her younger sister, she noticed her skin was ice cold and was deathly pale, her blue eyes were now dull and milky. The tips of her blonde hair were noticeably lighter in color.
"Carly! A-are you alright? How do you feel?" She asked concerningly.
"I-I....don't know, mostly fine I guess." Carly responded.
"That good...I think." Her older sister said and glanced back at Estaves who was in the driver seat,
"Find the nearest clothes shop." She requested and the soldier gave a curt nod.
They got back in the vehicle, and started moving again. The blonde squeezed her sister tightly, trying to ignore her now cold skin.
After an hour they reached a small clothing shop and the two sisters went in,
"Get something to cover your skin okay?" Susan beckoned as her sibling grabbed some clothes from the racks and headed for the changing room in the back.
Carly exited the stall wearing a pair of grey jeans, red sneakers, and a black t shirt with a stylized skull on it to be ironic. Over the shirt was a black leather jacket with a hood attached to it, as they exited the store Susan pulled Carly's hood up and gave her a pair of sunglasses,
"don't want anyone taking your head off by mistake" she said trying to lighten the mood.
Carly kept her head down and remained silent for the ride.
