The drive back to the Tyson family farm was silent.
Trevor Tyson wanted to say something, but was uncertain what.
He figured that if Melissa Jenkins wanted to speak, she would. About the only thing she did after securing her seat belt before starting out was to rummage through her purse.
Trevor figured that was just Mel making sure she still had everything she started off the night with, aside from her regular clothes, which were still at his place when they changed into their costumes for the Halloween dance.
The trip seemed longer than usual to Trevor, who figured Mel might be feeling a similar situation under the circumstances.
Despite my telling Anna that I love Mel, I almost "lost" her tonight, he realized, thinking about how his fledgling girlfriend almost became a werevixen or something else. I'd still love her, no matter what kind of were Mel became, but she is so looking forward to the romance and specialness of that moment when we're finally together and she becomes a werecow. I won't be surprised if she changes her mind about tomorrow afternoon in my bedroom, but I still hope that no matter what happens, Mel still wants to be with me.
Finally they reached the Tyson Farm.
So as not to disturb anyone, Trevor parked his pick up truck in its usual spot in-between the house and barn since he knew his parents were probably asleep by now, wanting to greet the new day when the rooster crowed and tackle their chores fresh.
Trevor walked around and held the door open for Mel, who smiled at him as she got out.
Trevor closed the passenger door and started to walk to the house, then realized something was wrong.
He turned and saw Mel was still standing by his truck, looking up at the stars.
"Is everything okay?" he asked, walking back to her.
"Maybe it's just because of my short time in Moon Lake, but I never noticed it before," said Mel, still looking upward and not at him.
"Never noticed what?" asked Trevor, looking up to see if he could figure out what she was looking at.
"The stars. There are so many."
"That's because we don't have much... light pollution, I think the proper term is," replied Trevor, looking back at her. "Moon Lake doesn't have as much urban development as bigger cities. Besides, most weres can see in the dark to some extent, so a lot of us don't really need street lights."
Mel just nodded her head in agreement, then turned to look at him.
Trevor was still in his werebull fursona, taller and more muscular than his regular human appearance. Plus, the horns on top of his head, his hoof like feet, and the tail coming out from behind his pants did add to his more bovine, or even Minotaurish appearance.
"Trevor..." began Melissa Jenkins, uncertain what to say.
Trevor just looked at her. It was easy enough to declare his love for Mel in front of Anna, but why can't I do it now?
Another moment of silence passed, then Mel kissed him.
It was a deep, long and passionate meeting of their lips. Or at least, her lips against the outer edge of his bovine mouth.
"Trevor..." began Mel, looking at him again once the kiss ended. "I want you," she declared. "I want you to take me out there," Mel added, pointing to the open fields to her left, "love me and make me your werecow."
"What?" he replied in disbelief.
"I took my first werecow birth control pill on the way here," she revealed, as Trevor recalled her rummaging through her purse during the drive. "By my watch I still have about 30 minutes until I'm safe," she added, having been advised before that it took an hour for the very first dose to become effective. "I can't wait until tomorrow afternoon and I certainly don't want my first time, our first time, to be in your bedroom with your family downstairs waiting to hear my first moo. I want the romance. The intimacy. You," Mel added, before kissing him again while embracing Trevor the best she could. "We could go out into the fields, find a nice romantic spot underneath the stars and..."
"Mel, I..." began Trevor, seriously tongue tied.
"Don't worry. My head's about as clear as it's going to be from Alice Decrux's Love Potion #9. This is pure Melissa Jenkins talking. The Melissa Jenkins who's intelligent enough to realize that she came very close to becoming something other than what she wanted to be tonight and doesn't want to face another risk before I can become what I really want to be."
"And what do you want to be?" wondered Trevor, staring at her intently.
"Yours," Melissa Jenkins said with a smile, before kissing him again.
Trevor could feel his werebull penis straining inside its sheath, wanting to expand and break out of the confining pants of his Halloween costume.
It was as hard and pulsing as strongly as his heart was pounding within his chest.
But was this what Mel really wanted?
He had to be sure.
"Melissa Jenkins, are you absolutely sure about this?" he asked her. "After all, regardless of who's in my position and what kind of were you want to be, once you have your first transformation there is no going back."
"I don't want to go back," protested Mel. "I want to go forward, with you. In case you haven't figured this out yet, I love you Trevor Tyson," she declared, before kissing him yet again.
Trevor smiled and said, "I love you too Mel!", before finally initiating a kiss on his own.
Then Trevor Tyson swept Melissa Jenkins up in his big strong arms and...???
