Once upon a time a wizard was really angry about the rotten luck he had gotten in the world so he set out to get rid of luck. Somewhat fortunately he figured out getting rid of luck is basically impossible, but he was able to make a get around. He enchanted a pair of dice so when he rolled them he could change any outcome that could've happened any other just as probable way. He wouldn't be able to change something like whether or not the earth would get an atmosphere that would support life, but he could change whether the gender of the first animal to walk on land all with the roll of both dice. He also made it so when the dice were destroyed their magical essence would just transfer to two other dice. Then when they inevitably were destroyed by sheer bad luck before the wizard could use them and they transferred to two random dice randomly in the world the wizard renounced magic due to him being likely to cause the destruction of the universe at some point by sheer bad luck.
Together the dice had been able to let the user choose outcomes but alone each die only let their user change one outcome to a different possible outcome. For sure the outcome of chance would will be different. Now one or both die have been destroyed, but where have the new die ended up?
