"YES!" the werecheetah couple on the dance floor heard someone shout.
They stopped in the middle of their dance and turned to see a weretigress embracing a weretiger.*
"What does that make now? Two marriage proposals in one night?" Marie Parker asked her girlfriend Jane**, as they watched their fellow felines embrace and kiss.
"At least," Jane said, turning back to face her friend. "I know things didn't work out with your family," she began.
"It don't matter anymore. It is what it is. They couldn't accept me as is when I told them I was a lesbian. They certainly won't accept me now that," and then Marie held out her paw and wiggled her fingers for a moment, before putting her furry arm back around her date. "But between your offer to help me relocate and start fresh in Moon Lake, let alone your friendship and this wonderful gift you gave me," added the werecheetah, before she kissed her sister feline.
"I'm glad," said Jane, after their muzzles parted. "Listen, I was wondering about something..."
"If it's about me moving out now that I've got a steady job, thanks to you, don't worry. A few more months of paychecks in the bank and I'll have enough for a down payment on an apartment of my own. But I will miss you, greatly," added Marie. "Our time together, especially since..." and then Marie toyed with her friend by having her tail brush up against Jane's body.
"I'm glad that things are working out for you," Jane said with a smile, "but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about."
"Is everything okay?" Marie asked. "I owe you so much. If you need help with anything, all you have to do is ask and if I can be of any assistance..."
"Thank you," said Jane, now stopping any pretense of dancing at all to just stand there and stare at her friend. "But, what I wanted to say was, and I have been thinking about this ever since you became my housemate and I initiated you into were society is... Well, truthfully, there is no easy way to say this."
"Say what?"
"Marie Parker, I may have originally started out life straight, but I have definitely come to embrace a lesbian lifestyle as I've embraced you in my heart, and I want to continue what we have for the rest of our furry lives together. Will you marry me?" asked Jane, staring at her.
"What?" said Marie in disbelief.
"Did I talk too fast the first time?" wondered Jane. "What I said was Marie Parker, I—"
"I heard what you said. Are you sure?"
"As sure as I'm standing here holding you, my love."
Marie stared at her friend, then started crying as she softly replied "yes".
The werecheetah couple kissed as they held each other closer.
When their furry muzzles finally parted, Marie looked at Jane and said, "By the way, do you become Mrs. Jane Parker, or do I become Mrs. Marie—"***
AND NEARBY...
"So LT, does that give you any ideas?" a blonde, barefoot girl asked the dark haired woman standing next to her.
The other lady just smiled and kissed her roommate on the cheek.****
MEANWHILE...
"Some night, huh?" Eric Anderson asked his fiance Julie Stovall, as the two were-mers continued to dance in their Stage 2 forms, displaying their leg scales and flippers.
"The best part of all is being with you darling," answered Julie, before giving him a gentle kiss on the lips.
"So, what do you want to do after the party?" wondered Eric. "My parents aren't expecting me home till tomorrow night," he added with a smile.
"I think you can guess, Mister Anderson," said Julie with a mischievous smile of her own, before pressing her body against his.
"I like the way you think, my future Mrs. Anderson," he replied. "Where?"
"I was originally going to suggest us leaving early and walk to my parents cabin near Moon Lake itself, since you've yet to go there and enjoy its... waters," said Julie. "But the Skulk have requested everyone to refrain from going to the lake tonight so Jenny and Harry Jenkins can have a peaceful honeymoon."
"So, back to your swimming pool and cabana?" figured Eric.
Julie simply nodded affirmatively. "Although we may have to share the water with my folks. Come to think of it, I haven't seen them in awhile."
"Hmmm... the last time I saw them, your mom and dad were over by the refreshments table, having some punch," said Eric, not knowing about Alice Decrux and the aphrodisiac she calls Love Potion #9*.
"Then, would you like to leave and walk home now, or stay until the party ends at midnight?" asked Julie.
"Anywhere I'm with you is where I belong," replied Eric, before he kissed her again.
ELSEWHERE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL GYM...
"Looks like this party is starting to wind down," observed werewolf Nate Anderson, as he danced with his boyfriend and future husband, fellow werewolf Alex Ramsey.
"Almost 11 now," observed Alex, looking at the large clock on the gym wall. "The party ends at midnight, but a lot of weres are probably already out in the woods surrounding the school having their own parties, if you know what I mean."
"I certainly do Handsome," said Nate, using his pet name for Alex. "Care to have a party of our own?"
"I certainly would Stud," replied Alex, using his pet name for Nate. "But let's have it closer to home. That way, we can stay out until dawn and not violate the Public Were Law."*****
"Good. My folks aren't expecting me home until tomorrow night, so that gives us more time to make love together," happily said Nate.
"Make love?" repeated Alex, a bit confused at that statement.
"What we have is far more than simple sex or rutting, isn't it?" wondered Nate.
"It's been that way for me for quite a while now," explained Alex, taking Nate's paws in his.
"Me too," agreed Nate, before they kissed again.
