Grivains Academy for Young Delinquents a boys only school, was less of a school and more of a boarding school, but less strict. Young men were sent to Grivains when their parents found them or their behaviour unmanageable, sometimes court ordered, most of the time against the will of the student, though they typically had no other options remaining.
Its students are mostly troubled young men that don't quite fit in mainstream schools, some were bullies, others have behavioural issues and needed extra attention in class, some were just attending because Grivains has an excellent educational success record, and a proud heritage dating back around 60 years, there were a few volunteer students at the academy, but all students at Grivains start there on equal footing.
Of course there are the students who's parents, usually wealthy industrialists or entrepreneurs, pay a great deal to have their sons, grandsons or nephews attend the illustrious academy. Some of said parents contribute a little more than just dollars, or which ever currencies they use in their home country.
One such figure, an early backer of the Academy, was a CEO at TransDem Laboratories, they started an ongoing and quite successful partnership with Grivains ensuring that all students would be well educated and physically fit and healthy for their futures.
As a result of said partnership each class room of the academy has an up to date chronovac device that is keyed to only allow the teacher of that class to use it, only the headmaster of the academy has the authority to override the teachers devices.
Of course, with that kind of power the teachers have to be well sourced, fully background checked and the like, and all students on acceptance to Grivains Academy sign non disclosure agreements. Additionally the headmaster greets all staff and students alike on arrival, making certain, using their chronovac, that all obey the Academy's laws, and never discuss the goings ons inside the academies grounds.
The turn around rate of delinquent students is quite fast at Grivains, so enrolment in some cases can be weeks, leaving a newly rehabilitated and educated student free to continue at any number of fine educational establishments without issue.
Because of this the enrolment fees are quite high, though government enrolled students get substantially decreased fees with extra conditions on their enrolment. Making Grivains Academy a favourite of law enforcement services, youth services, and youth employment programs.
Enrolment ages are usually higher than most other Academy's, typically mid to late teens, though there are exceptions.
