"Marky, Becky, come over here!", Mommy called, but they were too busy running after each other and ignored her.
"Guess nobody wants a cookie then, I'll have to eat them all myself!" Jesse yelled to her toddlers with a smile.
Mark and Rebecca immediately turned around, running towards her shouting "Cookies!", and each got a chocolate chip cookie when they arrived. As they gleefully munched, Jesse said "It's time to go home, I think it'll rain soon. Get in the stroller please, Marky."
Mark didn't really feel like sitting in the stroller yet, so he continued the game of tag by running away. But after just a few steps, Jesse caught him and swooped him up playfully. "Gotcha. You can play at home, but now we need to get going." Mark found this incredibly funny for some reason and liked being treated like the toddler he was, so he didn't protest when his mommy sat him down in the stroller, slid the red shorts back up his legs and buckled the straps. Rebecca just stood there watching the scene with the aloofness of a big sister.
"Do you want to go home on the buggy board?", Mommy asked her.
"No, I wanna walk!" she replied.
"But we need to hurry so we don't get all wet, okay?"
As Mommy started to push the stroller back home through the park, Rebecca walking along, taking big steps with her short legs like the independent big three-year-old diaper-wearing girl she was, Mark was amazed by how much they were like a normal family, a young mom returning from a trip to the park with her two toddlers. He absent-mindedly started sucking his thumb again and enjoyed his ride. At the entrance to the park, the stroller suddenly stopped.
"Come on, Rebecca! We have to get home, what are you waiting for?", he heard Jesse ask. He noticed he couldn't see his sister, apparently she was somewhere behind the stroller.
"I'm making poo poo!" Rebecca announced, almost proudly. "It's a big poo!" She added after a pause.
"Yuck. Well, get on the buggy board, then we can get home quicker and get you into a fresh diaper." Jesse told her.
Rebecca climbed on the platform attached to the stroller and Jesse pushed them both, a lot faster than before.
"Do you smell my stinky?" Rebecca asked.
"No. Those Pampers keep the smell inside" Mark replied.
"I can smell it a bit. But wait until I change you, it'll make me wish you were potty-trained." Jesse said.
"I'm happy I'm not. Still walking around with this much poo in my diaper doesn't feel nice, so thanks for pushing me along!" Rebecca answered.
"Ah, no problem. I'm your mommy now and I love you." Jesse said warmly.
"Aww, I wuv you too Mommy!" Rebecca replied, deliberately speaking like a baby.
Soon, they arrived back home and Jesse freed Mark from the stroller. She then picked up Rebecca and Mark followed them to the changing table. He was too short to see what was going on up there, but he wanted to know how bad the first soiled diaper in his new sister's second childhood really smelled. Just after he heard the sound of mommy ripping the diaper open, he was hit by a wave of stench that actually made him gag for a moment, then giggle.
"Whoa, Becky, that's really a big bad stinky." Jesse said.
"Yeah, you're really good at pooping!" Mark laughed, holding his nose.
"Thanks!" Rebecca giggled, as Jesse started to clean her tushy with wet wipes. It took her quite a while, but finally her daughter was clean and wore a fresh diaper.
She put her down from the changing table and announced
"It's time for..."
