"The curse is bullshit, you little freak! I'm not playing your sick game!" Jen said, slamming down the phone... or trying to, as she found to her sudden shock and horror that she couldn't move. "What...?"
"Trying to hang up?" Kyle asked with a sneer in his voice, "Sorry, but you have to listen to what I say. It's part of the rules."
'Oh, shit!' Jen thought with terror, 'The curse is real!'
"Now then, you better hurry. You only have 20 seconds left to pick. 15. 10, 9, 8, 7-"
"Dare!" Jen blurted out in a panic.
"Oh, so close, I was hoping to give you both," Kyle laughed, "Fortunately, I had plans for just in case you picked one in time."
"J-just get it over with, you loser!" Jen said, trying to mask her fear with bravado.
"Yes, I suppose I am a loser, and you're the Queen Bee, right? And you're so proud of it, aren't you? But we both know that the popularity and social standing you enjoy so much have nothing to do with your own accomplishments. You were just lucky enough to be born rich, white, hot, straight, and good at physical sports, in a society that puts priority on those sorts of things. Well, let's take that away, shall we? But not by changing you. No, that'd be too easy. Instead, for your dare, you will be sent into an alternate universe, where the social norms you love so much will be flipped on their heads, and the things that put you so far ahead in life will put you on the bottom of the barrel. With that, Kyle hung up. Jen dropped the phone, staring straight ahead in shock, hoping that this was all just a sick prank... and then the room started spinning, so fast that Jen's vision blurred out completely. Then it suddenly stopped, and as her vision cleared, Jen looked around, taking in her new reality.
