You rub your eyes as the sun shines through the open curtains and as your eyes adjust you can see mum sitting at the table nursing a cup of coffee the drink clearly having had some long lasting effect on both of you, mum lets out a small yawn and waves.
"Morning sweetie you feeling OK?" she asks.
"Yeah I feel fine, slight throb in my head but nothing some toast can't fix" you say.
Mum stands up and walks to the toaster to fix up some toast and that is when you catch a small glimpse of her stomach, her shirt stuck out more than it should, you decided to speak up and see if she is OK.

Mum laughs a little a small snort escaping at the end, you blink a little in surprise you don't remember mum ever snorting when laughing then again you were probably still reeling from the effects of the beer, the room falls into a silence for a few minutes before mum plates up the toast and returns.
"To be honest I woke up this morning feeling a little odd and it wasn't until I got out of bed that I noticed this" she lifts up her shirt giving you a view of her belly which was clearly jutting out she gently pokes it causing it to jiggle a little.
"You put on some weight?" you ask a little confused.
"I guess I have maybe that beer did it I don't know, I'll do some exercising later and begin my weight loss program" she says with another laugh and another snort.
"I'll be home late today, Kate needs me to help out at hers, I think Grace and Lucy are going to a friends till tonight and Zoe I think she mentioned a job interview she never said where but I don't know when she'll be back" you say before you chow down on your toast.
Time ticks by and soon the others are awake and grabbing breakfast.
"Me and Lucy will be over Tanya's we'll be home around eight" Grace says before both her and Lucy depart for college.
"I have an interview then I'm going to hang out with some old school friends" Zoe says before she follows behind her sisters.
"I'll be off now got a lot of stuff to do at college so I want to be there early, call me if you need anything" you say before you hurry out to meet with Kate.
