Ty wanted to become a boy again, thinking life would be easier later as a teen and an adult this way. He also wished that his mother wouldn't suffer from morning sickness or other complications and could fully enjoy the pregnancy.
Jacob's and Amanda's DNA formed a unique new combination inside Ty the fertilized egg, the cell divided and began to grow into an embryo. As Ty's body had no working sensory organs and no real brain yet, the next few months passed like a few minutes for him as he implanted himself in the uterus and continued growing, cells taking on different shapes and functions as different tissues and organs began to form.
Meanwhile, Amanda's period didn't come at the usual time and for some reason she didn't fully understand herself she wasn't surprised. Somehow she already knew deep inside that she was pregnant. Still, she was overjoyed when a faint blue line on a pregnancy test confirmed her feeling. Jacob was just as happy when she told him, but they both feared they might still lose their baby in early pregnancy like so many others.
But Amanda somehow instinctively knew that the tiny embryo growing in her womb was fine. Six weeks after conception, Amanda and Jacob went to the ultrasound together and were moved to tears when they saw something contracting and expanding fast in a pixelated mess on the screen - their baby's heart was beating!
Ty grew a tail and lost it again and began to grow arms and legs as he slowly took on a humanoid shape. He grew fast, his body receiving everything it needed from Amanda's through the umbilical cord. After 13 weeks, Amanda had another ultrasound. Her doctor told her the baby looked perfectly healthy, and she and Jacob decided to tell their parents and friends of the pregnancy. Ty's future grandparents were really happy for them and said they couldn't wait to meet their grandchild.
As Ty grew bigger, Amanda noticed a slight bump in her belly. Soon, Jacob saw it too. He found his pregnant wife even more attractive than usual and her sex drive was as strong as ever, so they still had a great time in bed many nights, and sometimes during the day as well. One of the first things Ty's new body actually felt were pleasant gushes of hormones when Amanda came.
Her belly grew, and Ty's senses awakened. In the darkness of the womb there wasn't much to see, but he could feel the warm liquid around him and the walls of the womb, and most importantly he could hear. For the first time, he heard his true mother's heartbeat, the rush of blood through her veins and sometimes, he could hear her voice when she talked to someone. He also started to move, even though he could barely coordinate his movements and it was difficult at first to even tell his own hands and feet apart. His stretching and kicking didn't lead to any reactions yet, but as he grew stronger, mom would soon start to notice. As Ty slept and woke up and moved about in the womb, he felt his new life was really beginning, and already he felt better than ever before.
