was also... 3 inches tall. Ryan looked around the room, spying a grandfather clock on the other side. It looked like a skyscraper now... He looked over his body, it looked exactly like it did when he was 6'2", but he had lost 71 inches in height, and was only ounces of his original weight. He was back to where he had crushed the tiny bones, but now they were larger than him. Ryan looked closely, and it didn't take a bio whiz to know that that was no mouse, but were human. He felt sick just looking at it, knowing this had happened to someone else. He tried to think of a way out of this situation and remembered the other carpet with the black square inside the white square... maybe if he stood on that he'd grow again. He looked across the room, the square a good 10 minute hike from where he was. Maybe when he got to it, it would shrink him further... he shuddered at the thought, but he had to try.
Ryan started running to the square on the horizon. His muscular legs pumping him across, his pecs bouncing as he bounded through the dust. He got there eventually, tired and sore. He stood on the square and looked around... nothing was happening though. He didn't shrink or grow... He waited a few more seconds, but it was no effect. He began walking back to the centre of the room, soon he heard a creaking noise, and a low rumble. While he stepped back down on to the hardwood, the door to the room swung open, a gust of wind and dust pushing him over. There, standing in the door, was Erick. 6 feet tall, black hair, a 5 o'clock shadow, and a build slightly less impressive than Ryans, he looked like some noble giant.
Erick stepped into the room slowly. The floor creaking underneath him sounded like rolling thunder. He spotted Ryan's clothes on the floor next to a mirror. He walked over on to the big white square and looked over the clothes. "Why would Ryan leave his clothes here?" his rumbling voice said. Ryan, who had been blown all the way over to the carpet was screaming for Erick to step off the square... but it was too late. Ericks shirt was already loosening on the shoulders and chest. His pant legs were bunching up around his ankles. Ryan yelled desperately, but was too small to be heard. He couldn't go over to Erick either, or he might shrink away to nothing. A loud whoosh could be heard as the now 4'tall Erick's pants fell from his waist, his shirt draped from his left shoulder. He had long figured out he was shrinking, but he couldn't tell why! He turned to run out of the room, but tripped as his volumnus shirt fell from his tiny shoulders and under his feet. He struggled, knotted within his shirt, diminishing before Ryan's eyes.
He fell to 2 feet tall while trying to free himself, but the closer he got, the smaller and more tangled he became. Quickly Erick grabbed the fabric of his shirt and freed his leg. He ran across the white square, tripping into the strands of carpet. He was around 6 inches tall, shrinking smaller and smaller, not even close to the edge of the white square. Ryan screamed, now audible to Erick's small ears, "Run Erick! Before you dissappear! The ever smaller Erick kicked his heels as fast as he could and lunged for the black carpet. He flew out over it in a roll. Ryan, now safe to approach, ran across as well. He looked for Erick, but couldn't see him... had he shrunken so far he had dissappeared? Ryan fell to the floor in shock, thinking they just weren't fast enough. He held back a sob, but felt something poke his thigh. Looking to his right, he saw Erick, less than a fraction of an inch tall. He was the size of an action figure to Ryan, but to any other person, was the size of a mite.
"What happened to us!?" The tiny Erick shouted, barely to be heard. "I don't know man, but we're gonna fix it. I promise." He picked up Erick and placed him on his shoulder, the two walked out of the expansive room.
