Nate felt his heart skip a beat as he looked up from his spot on the kitchen floor to his mother, looking over him at his half transformed self. She looked genuinely horrified at what she saw. Rick stood next to him in the kitchen as neither one moved. She reached down and grabbed up the bag Nate had been eating from. Nate sat up, looking over himself as he took in the changes that had begun. His legs and feet had begun to change into hind paws and his hands were each looking more paw like as well. His body was covered in a thin coating of grey and black fur.
She snatched up the bag of dog food from the floor and started reading the label. She couldn't believe what she was reading. She looked from the label to Nate to the other dog on the floor.
"Please...I need that..." Nate reached up for the bag of dog food with one of his paw like hands.
"No!" Nate's mom closed the bang and set it on the counter. "I'm not going to stand by and let my son turn himself into a dog! Where did you get this stuff anyway?"
Nate pointed to Rick. "Rick got it. I don't know where."
Her gaze drifted to the other dog and it finally registered that it was her younger son, Rick. She looked between the two of them trying desperately to decide what to do. She couldn't let this happen...could she? She wondered if she could find where Rick bought this stuff and take it back to demand an antidote of some sort. Her mind reeled as she considered her options.
