Alice Stevens pulled the car into a driveway in front of a white one story house. The house was decorated almost completely in decorations from Halloween a few days ago. Tom came to the conclusion that Alice's parents hadn't ha the chance to take them down yet. If they still had time, maybe he could help them take the decorations down to save them from doing too much work.
"Before we go in, I will tell you," Alice said, bringing Tom's attention to her. "My parents were REALLY excited when I told them that I was going to be getting married to you. They most likely will ask you a few questions just to get to know you, but those questions can sometimes turn into long winded conversations."
"It's fine Alice," Tom said, kissing her before opening the passenger door and stepping outside. "I'm sure they're lovely people. I can't wait to meet them."
Alice and Tom walked up the driveway towards the door. As they walked onto the porch, the door opened, and a woman with long red hair who looked to be in her early 30's came outside with a smile on her face.
"Alice! I'm so happy to see you!" she said happily, wrapping her arms around Alice, who responded by doing the same.
"I'm happy to see you too mom," Alice said, letting go. Lucy Stevens then looked at Tom, smiling.
"And you must be my baby girl's fiancé: Tom! Alice has told me so much about you! It's so nice to finally meet you in person!"
"It's a pleasure to meet you too ma'am," Tom said.
"Let's go inside and we can continue talking in there," Lucy said, ushering the two inside and closing the door once they were in.
The inside of the house was fairly larger than Tom had expected. The walls in the hallway were lined with pictures of Alice's parents and a few of Alice when she was younger.
"So how was the ride here?" Lucy asked as she led the two into the living room, where she sat down on an armchair. "Not too much traffic?"
"No, not at all," Tom said, sitting down on the couch. "The ride here was quite pleasant." Tom was quite for a second before saying, "If I may ask...what kinds of weres are you and your husband?"
Lucy looked a little confused at first, but she quickly realized why Tom was asking. "That's right, you were only recently transformed, so you don't know about all the were species out there," she said. "Well, I'm a werevixen, so Alice takes after me, while my husband is a wereraccoon."
"There are wereraccoons?" Tom asked, slightly shocked.
"One of the more uncommon species of weres in the world," Lucy said. "But yes, there are wereraccoons."
"So where's dad right now mom?" Alice asked.
"Oh, your father is out shopping," Lucy said. "He wanted to get a few things for dinner tonight. I'm making your favorite: lasagna."
"Sounds delicious Mrs. Stevens," Tom said.
