Seeing that her parents and the moving guys were pretty efficient at what they were doing, Tiffany decided to explore her new house. And, as any other teenager would do, she went straight down into the basement.
When she got down there, she did not see a caved in room. What she saw was a dark room full of dozens of machines, several of which were up and running. She gazed over the many machines in the lab and wondered what they did and who made them.
Some were flashing with computer code she would never be able to understand. A few were buzzing and whirring with no rhyme or reason. One particularly intriguing machine was a simple metal sphere that was levitating above a small disk. Some of these machines seemed to defy the laws of physics and thermodynamics. She had her eyes on what seemed to be a cloning experiment when she heard something.
"I'll be right back, hun! I just wanna check on the lab." Her fathers voice cried from outside the basement door. Tiffany knew he would ground her forever for being down here in this strange lab, which was probably his. She looked around and found a large locker which could easily fit her.
As she ran over to the locker, she tripped on some kind of lever and a ray zapped her with a pulse of green-yellow light which gave her a mild shock. After recovering a few seconds later, she dashed into the locker just as her dad had gotten into the lab.
"Did I really leave all this on?" Adam said, cruising around the room. He flipped off and on several switches and buttons on several devices. He paused at the one that his daughter had triggered. "Oh, this was one of my favorites. I could do almost anything to my body with this one." He went to a panel and scanned the transformation history. "Oh, whatever animal tripped this is going to be in for one hell of a ride." He shut the device down. What was going to happen to her, Tiffany thought. If that device could change somebody's body, then she started to fear for her life.
Dr. DeLorenza turned to the locker in which Tiff was hiding in. "Ah, yes, my disintegration locker. Able to reduce anything to ash with a click of a button." He made his way to the button, and Tiff's heart stopped. "Ah, the button's jammed." He said, spamming the button. "Oh well, guess I'll just throw stuff out like anyone else. Tiff would have sighed if she wasn't worried about getting caught. "Okay, hun, I'm coming back up." He yelled to his wife upstairs, and shut the doors behind him.
It took Tiff quite a while to get back to the door, as she was in total darkness. she swears she hit at least half the other devices in the lab, but she wasn't certain. Pretending she didn't do anything, she walked back to the front and went inside the house. Unknown to her, her unfortunate transformations would soon begin.
