It had been one thing after another. Maybe he had had trouble because of his new hooves -- it was certainly hard to hold onto anything with them -- or maybe he had simply been in shock from the change. Either way, it only took a few hours for Mike to be sent home, with his job hanging in the balance. Family ties can only take you so far, and Mike was pretty sure that clumsily breaking eight plates in one day would be enough to end his barista "career," President's Club or no. But there would be time to worry about that later; for now, Mike needed to find out what on earth was going on, and why nobody seemed to notice that he'd become some kind of impossible animal-man. Could it all just be a dream?
As soon as Larisa sent him home for the day, Mike ran to his car... and he found that not even the humble Honda had escaped his change. The seats looked odd, and he found that they were designed to comfortably accommodate his tail. It was as if the entire world had changed to suit him, which made everything seem just that much more impossible! What on earth would his dorm be like? And his family, what might have happened to his family? Mike was so distracted by all this that he failed to notice the traffic lights on his way home, and all of a sudden found himself being pulled over by one of the town's many policemen. Now, Mike's family had some connections, or at least had had them before this... change... So normally he'd be able to get off without a ticket, no problem. But now he had no idea what would happen, as he pulled out his insurance and his license --
His license, which now featured a profile shot of his bizarre, donkey face, and the name Mike Donkey where his real name should be. Or rather, where his OLD real name had been, for it seemed even his very family had been altered to make his new body make sense.
Well, at least the cop still let him off with a warning. That was something. And so, Mike finally reached his dormitory, where he discovered some shocking changes...
