You are Jeff. For many years, you have spent time away from the dreaded town of Ignam in fear of being chosen as the new champion but now that you have been appointed as a knight by the Lord of the land after saving his son you feel that you could handle anything demons could possibly throw at you.
Having not let the town commence with it's yearly ritually the previous day, you volunteered for the one way quest. Equipping the unbreakable armor you had blessed by the Lord's church to protect against the corruption of the awful demons as well as the unbreakable dwarf forged sword and sheild, you took one last look in the mirror. By the time your quest is over you could look much different than you did now.
Standing at 5'4" with a crop of tangled brown hair, you looked like epitome of a knight in shining armor, with mildly rugged good looks. Feeling as though you have memorized your true looks as much as you possibly could you set off with the local priest like you had seen many times before as a child as you disappeared down the dark cave on the edge of the village.
The sheer size of the curroptive was almost smellable like spending many days without taking a bath at the river but thanks to your armor it didn't affect you by going down wind pipe of your unprotected head.
Now at the the end of the winding tunnel and past the stalag and stalac tired that made the tunnel as though the tunnel was eating you alive, you found the origin of your town's misery to be captivatingly beautiful with it's glowing edges pulsating with the power of arcane magic lost to time. Finally at the last possible moment to change your mind you found yourself questioning why you weren't more hesitant.
'Maybe this is what I was always meant to do?'
Confident in you assumption, you decided to leave behind some parting words before disappearing forever from your village.
"Don't bother sending anyone next year, I'll have it all taken care of by then."
And with that you stepped through and into the unknown. Where you would end up at was anyone's guess.
