It was math class. Kendra and Lisa were sitting next to each other (again) doing their work. While Lisa was helping her with a problem, Kendra became distracted by a 17 year-old girl sitting a few seats away named Molly. Like Kendra, she was a brunette, but like Lisa, she was white. She had short hair and wore glasses. Kendra noticed that she kept scratching her legs. Lisa noticed this too.
The bell rang and the two expected Molly to rush out the door and into the bathroom, but she kept walking to her next class, occasionally stopping to scratch her legs. They followed her until she stopped. She doesn’t look too good.
“Ugh....I don’t feel so....” She settles down next to a wall.
“She doesn’t know!” Lisa yells. She and Kendra lift Molly up. She’s too weak to wonder what’s going on. The two drag her to the pool and lock the doors. They take off Molly’s pants and underwear and place her legs in water.
“What’s....happening.......ughh!” Molly groans as blue patches of scales start covering her legs. They start to connect as her feet web out into fins. When she came to her senses, she made a frightened gasp. Molly is now a mermaid! She spends the next ten minutes just staring at her blue tail, moving it up and down through the water. Her expression is a combination of fear and awe.
“Molly,” Kendra says. “I know this is sudden, but your not alone in this.” She and Lisa both take off their clothes and Molly witnesses their transformation. Her eyes grew wide at their beautiful tails.
“You’re......mermaids......too?” she asks in a soft voice, still trying to take this all in.
Lisa pulls herself up next to Molly to comfort her. “We’ll try to explain as much as we can. But you just need to know is that Kendra and I are here for you.”
They spent the next couple of periods talking about their mermaid past and how there’s no real explanation for their transformations. The girls even help her swim. By the time the final bell rang, Molly was feeling much better. She even smiled when they communicated telepathically underwater. They keep assuring her that with their help, everything will be all right.
“Thanks”, Molly began to feel better. “I’ve always loved mermaids,” she says, looking at her tail. “I just never imagined myself to turn into one.” She flicks her tail and giggles. “It’s very pretty.”
Lisa kisses her on the cheek. “Text your mom you’ll be spending the evening at my house. You’ve got a lot of catching up to do.” The three mermaids hug before they dry off.
