A lone businessman walked home from work. His car was being repaired, his wife wasn’t around to pick him up, and no bus stopped anywhere close to his home. He had no other choice but to simply walk. Sure, any other day, he would see it as just some healthy exercise, but today was definitely NOT the day for that. Rain was pouring down, and he had already counted several lightning bolts. The wind had already rendered his umbrella useless, too, leaving his pale brown hair and formal suit to be ruined by the elements. By the time the fifth car drove by and splashed water at him, the man had had enough.
“Can this day get any worse?!” He exclaimed in utter frustration, flinging his broken umbrella at the pavement so hard that the shaft of it bent. But, bouncing off the ground, it bumped into a seemingly random, empty bottle, making it fall over...and there had been something under it? Inspecting closer, he found what appeared to be a ring - a bit small for him, but perhaps… After a bit of trial and error, he found that it fit snugly on his pinky finger. The ring itself was bland, though it had a pale blue color, instead of the typical golden one.
“Well… I suppose this is a good sign…?” He shrugged, leaving the poor umbrella behind as he continued the tedious trek home.
Though he didn’t know it, the ring wasn’t any ordinary ring… It could grant his wishes in its own, twisted ways. It was limited to material wishes, such as wishing for an object or the like. But instead of simply poofing said object into existence, it would take any random human it found nearby and mold them into what the wearer desired.
And, before long, the ring would already get its first task. The businessman let out a long sigh, thinking out loud. “I really wish I had…”
