Animalia Halloween Carnival Costume Prep

added by makutamon 5 years ago O

While the Animalia Halloween started tomorrow, there was still plenty to do for prep, especially for costumes. While some costumes were obvious, others were original, and still others required some explanation.

---

"What's THAT supposed to be?" asked Clara, seeing one guy trying on a costume that looked exactly like a formless, brown blob.

"It's supposed to be the bubonic plague." explained the guy, not entirely sure himself.

"You might be sending the wrong message with that." replied Clara, the look on her face clearly reading 'you gotta be kidding me.'

---

"What is this costume supposed to be?" asked Robbie, seeing a guy wearing something that looked like balance scales on his head, with a box of breakfast cereal and an (empty) carton of milk on one side, and things that were more or less looking like fruit.

"I'm a well-balanced breakfast." said the guy. On seeing Robbie's confused look, he explained, "You know, the four food groups?"

"...Don't quit your day job." replied Robbie, after STILL not getting the pun.

"TYRA?!?!" gasped Heather, flabbergasted beyond belief at what her mother was wearing. It was seemingly nothing more than a pair of scanty short shorts, with a large T-shirt that had the letters 'WMD' on it. What was even more scandalous about the shirt was that, even though the important bits were covered, it still showed a good amount of underboob, as it was called sometimes.

"You like it?" asked Tyra, seemingly not bothered by her granddaughter's shock. "It's a 'Weapons of Mass Distraction' shirt a new company is having me field test."

"Hopefully that's the only one you have, and you're not wearing it around town. Think of the children." Said Heather, hoping against hope.

"Of course not, I've got my own costume planned." replied Tyra, but before Heather could sigh with relief, she turned around and revealed a box from a company called 'Really Bad Idea T-shirts'. The next one was seemingly worse (in Heather's eyes) than the first. It featured a yellow warning label with the words 'Contents under Pressure'.

"Hey, aren't you that guy who wanted to do a TV Show about people who join Project Phoenix?" Asked Abby, seeing a guy wearing a bald cap and business suit and having face/body paint on his head suggesting a stylized skull.

"Yeah," said the guy, "But that's not until January. So I'd thought I'd earn some pocket change by manning the Ticket Booth at the Carnival."

"So what are you supposed to be?" asked Samson, at a loss of what he was supposed to be.

"I'm Manny Calavera, from Grim Fandango." Answered the guy.

"I'll show you it at the gift shop during the Carnival later." Said Abby, on seeing Samson's still confused look. Fortunately, the guy managed to see Olga practicing at an extra large punching bag at the Claw Coliseum where they met by chance, and decided to clarify a little bit on his character.

"Well, at least you're not hitting the buffet anymore." he said in a cheesy fake Spanish accent. Fortunately, there were mirrors where Olga could see him coming without breaking practice, and decided to play along.

"Hey, Callie. How Ya' Doin'?" she said in an even cheesier Russian accent.
