Mika smiled down at the now six year old Tricia. The young girl was now absolutely adorable in her childish cheerleading costume. "Oh wow," Mika smirked. "You have got to be the cutest thing ever. You are absolutely going to clean up on candy. No way anyone can resist you like that."
Tricia blushed and smiled sheepishly. She felt so small in her current state and was regretting making this wish with the Ring. Staring at it she now began to wonder if it was too late to back out. "Hey Tricia," the young black girl turned her head slightly to see Samantha looking down at her. "Yes," she asked with a childish lisp.
Samantha looked down at her best friend. While the two of them had had a strained relationship since Samantha started her second childhood she still considered themselves friends. "Your not looking too happy right now. Is everything okay?"
Tricia sighed and looked up at her now taller friend. "I'll be okay," she mumbled, looking at her small hands. "I guess, I guess it just takes some getting used."
Samantha stood straight up placing herhands on her hips and looking down at her friend. "You know, I've known you for probably 50 years now. I can tell when your not being truthful and right now your not telling me everything."
Tricia looked up at Samantha with a sour expression on her face. " and who do you think you are huh," she yelled. "You make this huge change in your life without telling me and think now you can pass judgement on me!"
Samantha sighed. "So your still angry that I made me and Jake children again? Geez Tricia he's my husband stop being so childish."
The two paused for giggling. "In case you haven't noticed," Tricia said. "I am pretty childish right now. But yeah I am mad. Like you said we've been best friends since high school. I've known you longer than Jacob and you didn't even tell me. I had to find out myself."
"I'm sorry Tricia. It just kinda happened. I, I should of told you I know and I'm sorry. If it helps I missed you a lot over the past couple of months."
"Tricia looked at her 10 year old best friend and smiled weakly. "I've missed you too. I was hoping to catch up this weekend. It's the only time we could of been the same age. Now, well here I am six while your still ten."
Samantha sighed and looked around. "Well, you have the ring. You can change that if you want."
"What," Tricia exclaimed. "But, what about Jacob. I mean won't he miss you. He's like your best friend now isn't he?"
Samantha placed her hand on her young friends shoulder and smiled. "Well your my best friend. Jake, well. Jake is different. Besides can't you make it so that he's more like a babysitter instead of my friend. We really could use some girl time together."
Tricia smiled broadly. "You bet, I'll do the same thing to you and Jacob that I did for me and Mika."
Samantha smiled broadly and stood back. "Great," she exclaimed. "Now hurry before I have second thoughts."
Tricia closed her eyes as she wished for Jacob to age to 14 while Samantha became six. Samantha shivered slightly as she felt the regression take place. Looking over at a now 11 year old Jake she could see that the height difference between them was increasing as she slowly became shorter. Samantha looked at her hands and watche them become smaller as she went from 9 to 8.
"You okay Sammy?" Tricia asked. Sammy nodded. "Yea I'm ok," hr voice rising slightly in as she shrank a few inches and became 7. Looking at Jake intently Sammy could see Jake rapidly increasing in height as he became 12 then 13. The boys appearance began to become less childish and more teenage. While still gangly Sammy could see he was beginning to develop some muscle around his chest and arms. Samantha now looked at her own body before looking at Tricia.
When she was ten she had towered over the young girl. As she became younger though the height difference began to vanish. As Sammy once again became six she now found her friend was slightly taller than her again. Tricia smiled before placing her friend in a bear hug. "Great to see you again Sammy," Tricia exclaimed. " we have so much to catch up one."
Sammy returned Tricia's smile with a toothy grin of her own, " Hey Sammy," Jake called, his voice cracking slightly. "Hurry up with your friend. I promised your mom I'd have you home by 8:30."
"Coming Jake," Sammy called with childish enthusiasm. Grabbing her friends small hand to two six year olds raced down the sidewalk to next house. Laughing and talking as they began to catch up on old times.
