Jackie drove along in the truck, she said to her co-driver, Daisy, "I'm just saying! Since I was a little boy I wanted to drive an anti-gravity carrier powered by cold-fusion packs! What kid over the age of five didn't?!"
"Most just want to use a light saber."
"My point is, why aren't we driving that, and instead are stuck driving a truck like nothing's change except I'm now a naked fox woman from space?"
"You're not from space Jackie, you're still from Ohio." Daisy said leaning back, lazily watching the countryside go by. "And hey, the new economy isn't omnipotent ya know."
"That's another thing. Why are we DRIVING all this stuff there, instead of say just TELEPORTING it all to the army base? If you ask me, this is asking for trouble."
Daisy raised an eyebrow, pulling down on the baseball cape she still wore in spite of being otherwise naked, "You're asking all this now?"
Jackie shrugged. "We're on the open road, why not just shoot the air?"
A bullet went through the glass, deflected off the forcefield surgically implanted in Jackie when she was transformed (like all vixens) and then deflected off of Jackie's and went through the wind shield, forcing them to stop.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Jackie shouted, if not for her forcefield, that bullet would have gone through her brain and gone through Daisy's for good measure.
"We've got trouble!" Daisy barked taking her ray-gun while Jackie parked the truck. "Why are you doing?!"
It didn't matter as the tires were shot out a moment later.
"Sorry... I panicked... I think I'm still panicking! I thought we were supposed to be away from the front!"
"Must be some left-overs, not very well informed ones if they're using bullets." Daisy never thought the day would come when she thought she'd be grateful someone was trying to kill her with 'just' bullets!
"You are NOT telling my wife about this later!"
"Gotcha," Daisy promised. The two got of the truck. "Be careful, the bullets might have been just to lure us into a false sense of security."
Jackie shivered, that was not a pleasant thought.
A couple of human males in make-shift military garb came lurking away the back of the truck, they were moving cautiously, they were clearly expecting Jackie and Daisy to be dead already and were more concerned for any escort the truck might have.
The moment they saw the vixens, they opened fire, the bullets again harmlessly bouncing off the vixens, but punching holes in objects around them.
Daisy didn't hesitate to drop into a kneeling pose and drew a bead and opened fire before the two humans realized their mistake, one two, zapping them both.
In an instant, their clothing dissolved, the energy created used to create two new transformation-ray-guns. Red fur colored the first vixen, while yellow fur covered the second one, both becoming slender and stunningly gorgeous, a force field generation under a random part of their skin being created in the process. The two vixens blinked their beautiful blue eyes.
"Like! Oh my gosh!" said the yellow one. "Sorry for like, trying to kill you before!"
"Well, looks like we're on your side now." The red vixen said bowing her head. "Oh, you should know, we have a sniper in the farm house a while away from here."
"Would she have committed suicide seeing you two changed?" Daisy asked worried about the senseless loss of life.
"Naw, Dream is a fighter, she doesn't give up that easily," the red vixen said shaking her head. "Though this is kinda embarrassing... not knowing about the forcefield stuff."
Daisy said, "Well, I'm guess you folks were out in the boonies when the invasion hit. Part of one of those 'free of technology types?' I guess you just heard about the 'evil space vixens out to enslave everybody!' And didn't know the finer details."
"Like... I guess so." Said the yellow vixen embarrassed.
The red vixen asked, "Would you guys mind helping me get Dream? I really don't want her stuck out here eating canned beans and having to sleep in a barn with one eye opened when she could just join us."
"We are so gonna be late for our delivery," Jackie moaned. "I promised the kids I'd be home early for once..."
"Like, sorry 'bout that. How about we go get Dream and you guys fix up the truck?... Again, like sorry for trashing the wind shield and tires. You're not going to have to pay for it are you?"
"Not your fault," Daisy said, "You're new and improved now.... And I hope not."
