Katrina walked along the dirt path, the 18 year old wore a denim shirt with rolled up sleeves and cropped dirty jeans with worn gray shoes, her black hair was slightly messy. A military like backpack on her back and a katana holstered with it. The girl was Asian with brown eyes and an athletic build, she lived in Washington but after her parents died she decided to make her way to California. Katrina had been traveling for three weeks and was in Southern Oregon, making her way to the California border.
After watching all day she decided to spend the night in an abandoned motel on the side of the road, but when she turned the corner a hoard of the undead swarmed towards her. The Japanese American girl sprinted away from the ensuing pack of zombies but they were getting closer. Just as she thought they would get her a large truck appeared out of the nearby cropfeilds. Inside an older man with a hunting rifle yelled to her,"Get yer' ass in the car now!"
Katrina hesitated but got in, better than being walker food. After she jumped in the man slammed on the gas and sped away from the pack of monsters.
"I'm Jed by the way, what's yur's?" He said as the truck made its way down a winding road,
"K-Katrina...and thanks." She said nervously,
"Nice to meet ya, and don't mention it, I couldn't up and just leave you to die." He responded.
The car came to a halt in front of a large farm, they got out and Jed let her inside the house.
"You must be exhausted, stay until tomorrow it's too dangerous at night." Jed offered.
The dark haired girl accepted and undressed in the guest room before going to sleep.
The next day Katrina found that her clothes were gone and new ones laid out for her, she sighed and put on what was given to her. Katrina saw in the gaining mirror that her hair was clean and combed straight and parted in the middle with a brown plastic hairband. She walked downstairs wearing a white blouse with floral designs buttoned up under a tan dungaree dress, white socks and brown hiking shoes. A woman, whom Katrina guessed was Jed's wife, was cooking breakfast.
