Katie and Kellie smiled as they began talking with their new friends. Memories flooded the two teens heads as this reality came into focus. Kellie was close friends with Mary Elise. The two girls were in many of the same A.P. Classes and had gotten to know each other well. Katie in turn was close with Samantha. Both girls were on the same athletic teams and had hung out on together on several occasions. As for Mika and Claudia while they weren't particular close with either girl, they were cordial and had gone to movies and other social events. Katie now hoped that she could make some headway on their friendship.
"I really want to thank you guys for that," Katie said. "Things have been tough for obvious reasons, especially for Kellie." Claudia smiled as she adjusted her swimsuit. "Don't mention it," she said kindly. "You are who you are and you can't change that. Besides Ashley and Jennifer have really been pissing me off lately."
"Their pissing you off," Mika laughed. "At least you don't have classes with them. All they do is whisper and spread gossip through the entire thing. It used to be fun but ugh now it's just annoying." Katie watched as Mika tried smoothing out her baggy swimsuit. "Ugh what's going on with my suit," she complained. "I could of sworn it was fine when I got here. Now it's all baggy and it looks like one of my moms." Claudia nodded in response. "I know what you mean. My strap keeps sliding of my shoulder, if I didn't have my coverall I'd be worried about flashing the entire beach."
"I thought I was the only one," Samantha exclaimed. "Mine isn't fitting right either. It's so loose around my waist and my butt." Mary Elise nodded in return. "Yea I got the same problem. I'm practically swimming in my suit and my dress is baggy around my waist."
As Katie looked at her new friends trying to adjust their ill fitting clothes she began to think. "You know," she said. "I think I saw a shop that had some swimwear back that way. Might be worth checking out." The girls nodded as they attempted to slip on their beach sandals.
The sandals, which were more fitting women in their fifties looked out of place on the now teenage girls. Claudia groaned in frustration as she realized her sandals were now a size too big for her feet. "Ugh I might need new shoes too," she groaned. Slipping the sandals off her dainty feet the young blond tossed her back and began trudging towards the store barefoot. "Hope they have some footwear too I don't feel like walking around in these old lady shoes."
The girls giggled as they began the slow walk back up the beach. Katie hoped it would give her time to learn even more about her new friends.
