Other ways of Making Money

added by makutamon 5 years ago O

While a lot of people were enjoying the Animalia Thanksgiving Exposition and Fall Festival, either the meal or the Bachelor/Bachelorette Auction, there were still other things going on. There were many activities and sales going on that would help offset some of the costs, as well as some new "reboots" that were planned in the future.

---

One of the activities that were fun for all ages was the Arts and Crafts showcase. It wasn't just about really young children using finger paint to make turkeys, but people of all ages using all forms of mediums to make arts and crafts. For example, there was a silversmith who showcased how to make artwork out of shaped metal without utilizing molds.

There were also chances to buy many of the artworks that were created there, which also generated some new questions from uplifted Animalians. Mainly, why did many people spend lots of money on exotic knickknacks when the money could easily be used for other things.

Another thing that was set up was a replica of the Prohibition era continuous still that had been found beneath the Animalia School of Modeling. Once it was up and running, there was a kind of "bottle-your-own-whiskey" exhibit, both to show history and generate some revenue. What was also found (behind a secret panel) was also the second largest collection of Prohibition era alcohol in Nevada, ranging from domestic gin (bottled in 1919) to top shelf wine and whiskey. Not only was Shamus interested, but also every wine and alcohol connoisseur in Nevada. After a sample was provided for all the participants of the "tasting panel" , the entire collection was shipped to the Worldmeet Glade for their bar and restaurant.

The Nevada Gaming Commission, on the other hand, was more interested by the rigged gambling devices that had also been found, from old marked cards that required a blue contact lens to see the marks, to a craps table with magnets attached to the bottom to influence "loaded dice", to a roulette wheel with wires connected to pedals as well as to a device that would influence said roulette wheel, to "fixed" slot machines, to even a book that would discuss how to read body language in card games, apparently written by a member of the Mafia out of Las Vegas. After sending the information to every head of security of every casino in Nevada, the NGC sent most of the rigged gambling equipment to a museum that showcased the history of gambling in Nevada. It also inspired the setup of a portable blackjack table so people as young as 13 could play for fun using dummy chips.

ABC also approached the Jack and Mary Piper about doing an Animalian reboot of the sitcom featuring the Walden Family, which would be known as Cheaper by the Dozens, which was apparently inspired by a combination of the movie series Cheaper by the Dozen and the old contest 'My Life is a Sitcom', and also inspired by one time when the entire Piper clan went to a fast food restaurant and had trouble finding out who ordered what meals, and the video made it's way to . Fortunately for Jack and Mary Piper, Dr. Jones managed to make it clear that the negotiations wouldn't take place until after their psychological therapy was complete; and their trial for kidnapping Jeremy, and Jack raping Mary, was finished. Fortunately, the first episode of said sitcom would feature the Piper wedding and reception, and all of the children had enough different personalities to more than make up for the different members of the Walden Family.

There was also a CNN interview with Mr. Thomas, the owner of the Worldmeet Glade about a news story that had broken recently.

"So you managed to capture some Nevada Institute of Technology students who used their knowledge of physics to improve their odds at the roulette tables. What are you planning to do?" asked one reporter.

"In the old days, when my grandfather owned the Flamingo in Vegas," said Mr. Thomas, reminiscing, "The first time you got caught cheating, they'd take you out to the neon graveyard and break your hands. The second time, they'd cut off one of your hands. The third time, they'd kill you. Nowadays, the best way to catch a cheater is to hire first time cheaters."

"I see." said the reporter, "Then they can work off their debt and provide you with better security."

"That's the best way to get your money's worth, and you get in less trouble with the law." replied Mr. Thomas.
