Now Saggitarius had no notion that King Midas had kidnapped his Herd, and thought the evil doer was Issac himself.
Clearly kidnapping the entire Herd was against the rules of the Duel, and
since Issac had broken the rules,a increasingly angered Saggitarius
figured this was now a Duel to the Death
and he dived down and retrieved his great great grandpa's
boxed set of
Dwarvish Wind Tubes (think finely made and balanced 18th dueling pistols)
from the now vanished Herd's
Secret Armoury, called up two Seconds and a Dueling Referee from a neighbouring herd
and returned to where
Issac was still flopping about.
Issac tried to get a explanation out of Saggitarius about
what was going on but the Saggitarius would have nothing more to do with
Issac, but dashed off to a nearby hilltop and cleaned his hooves
whilst the Seconds and the Duel Referee
explained to Issac that the
Duel for Domination
had just turned into
a life or death, winner take all ( meaningless since the prize, the Herd, was gone)
and explained what a nasty thing a Dwarvish Wind Tube
could be if its barbed projectile got you in a duel.
Meanwhile somewhere else the females in the Herd watched in horror as Saggitarius's adopted unicorn son
Agwe ( awe in norse) charged King Midas.
The females knew of course that anything King Midas touched turned to gold, which amongst other things explained why
the cursed King went about in a outfit made of finely beaten gold.
If the impetus neighing young unicorn somehow got touched by Midas
it was lights out for the unicorn.
However King Midas had a few decades of living with the Midas Touch and swifty
uncoiled a whip and flicked it along the nose of the youth, who squealed in pain and swiftly ran back
into the Herd.
King Midas shook his masked head at the youth
disapprovingly and got down to business about
rewriting the future,
He knew the pegasi got around at 300 miles per hour,a speed impossible for
any other species of winged horse
and dragon.
Clearly the pegasi were in ca hoots
with the Titan of Time himself
Kronos!!!
Since King Midas planned to alter the pre-ordained future
a pegasi who could manipulate time was a useful
tool in King Midas's plan to avenge his godchild's death.
